Re: Upgrades for the Taz 5.

To update in case anyone finds this later. I have been playing with octoprint and the RasPi cam. Octoprint lets you send any M/gcode to your printer (even during a print). So you could stop the print with Mcode if you want right through a web browser or phone (I am hoping to set it up on the phone a...

Need to box up my printer to move, any advice?

Does anyone have any experience in boxing up their TAZ? ( I have a KitTAZ to be precise, but you can assume TAZ4/5). I am looking to move across the country in the next two months (new job likely, super excited!). I am planning on boxing up my TAZ and putting on a moving truck, Uhaul or maybe profes...

I just searched the forum for x axis open rail project and found the proper thread. But maybe update the link? Thanks, and great work putting this togethr, there are a number of t...

PLA from eSUN vs Village Plastics

I wanted to give a review of the Lulzbot PLA from eSUN, since I havent come across any here on the forums yet... So, I generally buy my plastic from lulzbot, to support them, and they have reasonable prices/shipping times and I have found it to be good quality plastic. So I have generally stuck with...

Re: Upgrades for the Taz 5.

I have some related questions about OctoPi/OctoPrint. I have a KITTAZ that I upgraded with the LCD smart controller. It works great at just loading an .gcode file onto the SD card and print from the LCD controller. This way I am untethered. I would however like to monitor my prints via a webcam, and...

Re: Filament availability

I order some through inventables.com I have not had any issues with the filament yet, and they have a good set of colors/sizes of PLA and ABS. They ship UPS ground out of Chicago area, so its pretty fast to get anywhere to the midwest, so for me its a 2 day delivery.

Re: Simplify3D is a software improvement

S3D is sounding more and more interesting to make the jump to it manly for placing supports where you want and not all over everywhere like cura. How about the gcode files for start-up on the mini. Nozzle cleaning, bed leveling etc. can they be copied over to S3D, if so how and where do you save th...

Re: RazzMaTAZZ - my KITTAZ Build

Quick update: I will evaluate during calibration how the upgrades all turned out. I cant wait to hear a quieter machine! My machine is fully up and running, and these upgrades made a big noticeable difference. My test prints all came out significantly better than my previous time. The whole thing i...
