Re: HOT BOX 3DP ENCLOSURE SYSTEM (For Taz)

This looks really well made, reminds me of mine! Congrats, it's one of the best examples of how it should turn out. Hope you're enjoying it... Yep, mine maxes out about there as well, sometimes I can just push 40C... have been printing ABS for almost two years now, printer and box still going stron...

Re: Weird issue, over extruding in certain areas??

Just as a little update to my issue, here was the problem, basically Slic3r 1.2.9 is garbage for thin walls..... and what do you know, this all started when I upgraded to 1.2.9 :)...... Here is a thread on the issue.. https://github.com/alexrj/Slic3r/issues/2960 Until this bug is fixed with the late...

Re: Weird issue, over extruding in certain areas??

Thanks, all good points, I really think it was a weird gcode anomaly, I can print the raw output gcode files with almost any part and they output really large extrusion widths for low layer heights, the parts print without issues. So again, this seems like a weird fluke. This fluke part seemed to li...

Weird issue, over extruding in certain areas??

Hey, just want to throw this out there to see what you guys think. So I've been printing for about 2 years now, I've printed small stuff, large stuff, simple stuff, complicated stuff, probably over a few hundred hours of printing so far so I've seen many issues come and go, but this is a new one for...

Re: HOT BOX 3DP ENCLOSURE SYSTEM (For Taz)

Parts are saved in mm into raw stl format from Solidworks. You need to bring them into netfab and upconvert them to inches for them to import at normal size into Slic3r. It's a weird quark, I've always had to do this for my 3DP stuff :(. Now I forget, some of the parts I might have already up conver...

Re: HOT BOX 3DP ENCLOSURE SYSTEM (For Taz)

Hi all. I made a modification to my box. I wanted to access the controller housing without taking the top of the box off so I enlarged the vent hole and designed a new vent (inspired by Jonathan) for the opening. Check it out at Thingiverse. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1484077 Paul, Love it! I...

Re: PEI bed surface

Just curious as to how long the 3M adhesive is supposed to last? Mine is starting to dry it after some heavy printing......I'd like to do away with having to use adhesive....anyone have success using a thick sheet of PEI and just clamping it in the corner clamps?

2 questions: PLA printing and How/use end of roll..

1. It's been a while since I printed PLA, like a longgggg time. I almost exclusively use ABS these days but I have a full roll of white PLA lying around that I'd like to use. A while back I seen some posts about the hex head clogging on extended prints using PLA because it softens up. What is the la...
