Cura Not Z Hopping

I'm still learning the newest version of Cura LE and am having a problem with Z hopping. I have it turned on and set to avoid printed areas but it isn't happening. The print head scrapes across the part as it travels along. Any ideas on what to do? Attached is a screen shot of my settings. Screen Sh...

Re: Einsy Retro on the Taz 6

I made my own mount that puts it in the control box. As for the wiring I made new pigtails that go from the duet wifi to the plugs on the back of the control box so that I could remove the stock control board with all it's wiring in tact. As for bed leveling I did a BL-Touch and did not try doing t...

Re: Einsy Retro on the Taz 6

So I'm going to go a slightly different route. The Duet 2 Maestro was recommended to me. I ordered the Duest 2 WiFi and will be installing it in the next couple of weeks.

Cura LE w/ Mini 1 Problem

I switched to the latest version of Cura LE (3.6.3) to use on my first generation Mini. The problem I'm having is that after auto-leveling, the Z height of the first layer is way too low. Results in poor extrusion. I had the same issue with an earlier version of Cura but forget how I fixed it. Every...

Re: Making a Taz 4 Quieter

I'd love to get as quiet as the Mini 2. There are two big changes on the Mini 2 to reduce noise. The first is the Einsry Retro electronics board which uses the TMC2130 drivers. These drivers have a " Stealthchop " mode which gives the motors much quieter movement. The second aspect will be the move...

Re: Making a Taz 4 Quieter

I'd say the Z motors are the next most noisy.

Making a Taz 4 Quieter

I'd love to make my Taz 4 quieter. I've replaced the fans with Noctuas and have a dampener on the Y motor. Any other suggestions? New steppers?

Taz 4 Hardened Steel Hobbed Bolt

I'm looking into printing carbon fiber with my Taz 4. I'm planning on using an Olsson Ruby nozzle but it was recommended that I also change to a hardened steel hobbed bolt. Can anyone suggest a non-sketchy vendor where I could find this bolt? I found a couple but reliability of the sites was questio...

Taz 4 Extruder Fan

I have a new fan to put on the extruder of my Taz 4 but I don't know what size pins are needed to crimp onto the wires so they fit in the Molex connector housing. Does anyone know?

Droopy Overhangs

I've tried printing these items on a Lulzbot Taz 4 and Lulzbot Mini 1. Both have droopy overhangs. The slicing programs determine that supports are not needed so I'm not quite sure what to do here. Any suggestions?
