Re: Converting old TAZ 4 extruder to flexystruder

Ok. Good info!

Then I guess it's just going with three different firmwares (hexa, buda and dual) until all the budas have become hexes.. :) I wonder if we could get a package deal on three Hexagons? :)

Re: Converting old TAZ 4 extruder to flexystruder

A thought.. Would it work to use a new heater resistor (from the new hexagon hot end) in the old budaschnozzle, in order to avoid flashing the firmware every time I change struder? If so, what's the actual part number? Can't find anything in the developer section on the new hot end.. Any Lulzbot sta...

Re: Frying Heater elements

Thanks, that's very helpful! I live in Sweden though, so I have a suspicion that shipping is going to be more than the actual worth of the components, so I'll just save you the hassle and order them from Farnell. I also need at least two and probably get a spare for building a "filament-welder" from...

Re: Frying Heater elements

Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one.. :p Ok, so it's like I suspected.. Pity no one mentions this from Lulzbot since I'm sure most people print with more than one extruder.. Oh well.. Time to order heater resistors and crimping stuff then.. Do you have a good source for them? Thx! // J

Frying Heater elements

Hi all! I just modified an old budaschnozzle toolhead into a flexy struder, and I've managed to burn out two heater elements trying to start it up. It heats up to ~120C and then suddenly it just starts to cool. When I check voltage and resistance, I get nil on both, while before I started it up, I h...

Re: min/max temp error

Thanks for your feedback, Orias! I really appreciate it.

I finally spoke to Support yesterday and they are helping me out with a new hot end!

Big kudos to the Lulzbot team for the exceptional service.

Re: min/max temp error

As you can see, there is some damage to the tubing, but it's also clear that it's still insulating the wire from the block.. I filmed a video as well when I start it, all is fine, then I heat the bed, all is fine. Then I start the hot end, which heats to 30 something, then comes the error mintemp an...

Re: min/max temp error

Ok. The error returns every time I try to heat up the hot end. The printer has been standing still for the last three days which is very frustrating.. I assume the board hasn't been shot yet if it shows the bed temperature fine? And it heats the bed properly.. I read at the seemecnc forum that there...

Re: min/max temp error

Update: No breaks on the cables, although there is a chance the thermistor ptfe tubing might be damaged at one place although I don't know if it has touched the heater block or not. 5.7Volt over the thermistor and 100kOhm. When I turn on the printer, it says TAZ Ready and shows correct temperatures....
