Re: Taz 4 modified to 5 Selling ALL my Taz CRAP!!

Im sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your 3d printer. I personally have never experienced the quality and professionalism that the Lulzbot Customer Service team exhibited on upwards of 50 times in the last 2 1/2 years since I bought my Taz 4. they have spent literally days worth of their t...

Advice needed, first 1/3 of print bed distorts print

Here are some pictures.... I believe it's the Y belt. I have a taz4. I tightened the belt recently after repositioning it so that it's horizontal with the stepper. When I purchased it it wasnt perfectly horizontal, and rubbed the clamp underneath. Also the design of the clamp seems to rub on the bel...

Re: Layer lines visible - tips for a VERY large print?

The thing I like about pet, and amphora is they have 100% layer bonding. Something I can never achieve with abs, although I've come close. Parts printed in abs when stressed, always break along layer lines, but pet and amphora break against layer lines, like a solid piece. The lower tg of pet never ...

Re: Layer lines visible - tips for a VERY large print?

Totally understand now. Thank you for the breakdown piercet! I have the taz4, and do have slight z banding and would love to try your anti wobble device. Did this eliminate all z wobble, it seems like the other lead screw would still cause wobble? What If you did the same Genius idea by the way! Als...

Re: Layer lines visible - tips for a VERY large print?

There isn't an anti wobble that will fit a Taz 6 yet. There is a bit of a space limitation in the Z axis design that makes fitting one problematic without a redesign. You can try the "clock one of the leadscrews over 1/4 turn and see if that fixes it" Please elaborate... What is an anti wobble? Als...

Re: Anyone Tried a Removable PEI Bed?

I used to experience bubbles like that when I first got my taz and they used PET sheets on their beds. I was having issues with the prints sticking to the bed and tearing of the pet also. So I ordered a 100$ printinz 12" taz build plate and clipped out to my bed. It worked ok, for about 3 prints, th...

Re: Anyone Tried a Removable PEI Bed?

I have come to love PEI. A well maintained and well cleaned/sanded PEI sheet has unparalleled stick. Recently I have been experimenting with other build plates such as Geckotek. I love the idea of Geckotek and its removable flexible plate but after the first few prints it loses its stick as the coa...

Re: Layers not smooth Taz 6

It looks to me like your y axis is binding up somewhere, check to make sure your bed goes back and forth smoothly, and check there is nothing obstructing your belts/pullies/rails etc. It could also be in the z axis....

Thank you for your replies! They all helped. I knew they would work, I guess I was just looking for a way to do it without brims.... But good news is I did anyways. With time comes experience ;)
