Re: My extruder mount is rocking!

I like the upgrade. It's really cut down on maintenance and its helped the accuracy of my machine. I've only noticed a little bit of vibration with the bed but that was eliminated after about a month of use. Most of the harmonics of my machine come from flex of the entire system, unavoidable.

Re: Strategies for Resolving Print Artifacts

@Sebastian That is a great question. I'm going to say that both the bed and extruder are flexing. I have no system in place to measure what components are doing what. I will make a couple of educated guesses based on my limited knowledge of physics and materials. The X-axis is probably the biggest ...

Taulman just dropped their 910 blend that seems like it will make some good hardware.

Re: Taz4

Don't set the temps in your slicer software! Instead have the slicer temps set to 0 and set the TAZ temps up manually using the LCD screen. Once the machine comes up to temp hit print.
This is a known issue with slicing software--almost all from what I've heard.

Re: Class Demonstration

Sorry I didn't see your post sooner. I teach a STEM class to 5th graders and I've printed the gear cube from emmit http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:213946 and give them out to get kids excited about 3D printing. I make them at half full scale so they print really quick. It might not work as well for...

Re: E3D hot end first pics and how-to guide

Not a terrible first run though. I've done worse with a single nozzle.
Can/could you throw up the .stl for your dual greg wade's bowden mount? please.
I've been wanting to try a half direct and half bowden dually setup till I have the cash to follow your lead.

Re: Hexagon Hot End Jamming with PLA?

For A) seasoning the nozzle seems to be a technique that is often used to get PLA to run through a nozzle better.
For B) try slowing down the volume of PLA that you are trying to push through the nozzle. Either print slower or shorten up your layer height.
Good luck

Re: Nylon and other stuff PEI adhesion. Solution for newbies

You guys should check out page 13 of this thread. I'm getting nylon to stick on PEI with some PVA. The best part is the PVA is staying on the bed so I don't have to apply glue very often.
