Re: I'm accumulating spare bits. PM if you need something

I've now replied to the PM's. For people who may see this thread in the future, as of now I still have many of the parts left. Feel free to PM me. I don't check the forums as often as I'd like, but I get an email each time a PM comes in so I should reply relatively quickly (except this past weeked -...

Re: Converting old TAZ 4 extruder to flexystruder

I believe the difference is the heater type. When I powered up my flexystruder after the conversion, the thermistor seemed to be registering correctly. The resistor however was glowing red hot and eventually failed.

Re: FlexyDually questions

Hi, welcome to the forums :) Rather than answering your questions directly I'm going to try to explain the differences between the extruders so you can appreciate why one is used over the other. The way the standard extruder works is it "grabs" the filament by squeezing it between a hobbed bolt and ...

Re: I'm in a jam!!

I've had a similar problem before when I ran out of filament. I probably could have used pliers but I just used the next roll of filament to push that bit through to extrude it out.

Re: Fillament Striping

dutchhome, Do you suggest the split fan shroud for the hexagon hot end as well? I thought it was for the budaschnozzle only. I'm having the same issues (TAZ 5) and am willing to print one to give it a try. Sorry, I don't have any direct experience with PLA on the new hexagon hot end. Is your small ...

Re: Fillament Striping

Do you have the split fan shroud installed that blows air on the heatsink? If not you could be experiencing "heat creep". Here is a better link than the one I gave before: https://forum.lulzbot.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=983 If you already have the updated shroud, try the other things listed higher up...

Re: Bed Temp Change after uploading firmware on Taz5

Sorry, I have no idea. I don't know much about the Marlin firmware or how/when it writes to the EEPROM. Sounds like your only option is to set the bed PID values in the configuration.h file in the marlin firmware and recompile/upload.

Re: Bed Temp Change after uploading firmware on Taz5

You can either make the changes in the LCD (these changes are stored in the EEPROM, I believe) or update the values in the firmware and reflash it.

Re: Converting old TAZ 4 extruder to flexystruder

Nice! I was sure there had to be something like this. Completely explains why my resistor fried when I used the wrong firmware. Would be nice to add this to the menu.. To be able to choose between multiple profiles (number and types of extruders, PID configs, etc). They like to use preprocessor dire...
