Re: UPS Battery Backup for Mini 2 Desktop

A 1500W should be plenty if all you want is a few minutes to power down the printer. For a 5min run time, a smaller UPS would work also... APC/Schneider, Tripp-Lite are all well known in the computer networking, and data center usage. Here's a calculator to help with the decision: https://www.apc.co...

Re: [Dual Extruder v3] Printing Different Colors for Different Layers

With dual extrusion, you'll need the object broken into two STLs according to the color. Then join them in a slicer software to assign the extruders and create a single gcode file. A two color cylinder (top and bottom) is simple example. The lower half would be a STL assigned to the T0 extruder. The...

Re: Dual Hexagon Setup

The Dual V3 has a single heat sink that the heater blocks attach. The Hexagon hotends have individual heat sinks. I haven't checked, but the heat breaks may be different. The Hexagon had threaded heat breaks, the Dual V3 heat break slide in and held in place with a grub screw. For some reason, I tho...

Re: [Dual Extruder v3] Filament Stops Feeding, Ruins Print, Can't get out Easily

To remove ABS filament, I usually extrude 5-10mm then retract out of the extruder body. It might work for PLA also. You may need to help it by pushing the filament or pulling to get past the portion that's been ground out by the gear. Somewhere within the extruder, the filament path must expand. Whe...

Re: Trouble Removing ABS Print

Isopropyl alcohol will help release the ABS from the PEI. Clean the nozzle, discs and wiper pad. It sounds like the auto level is off. Is the first layer of the print wider than than the rest? You really don't need anything on the PEI to print ABS. Just get the initial nozzle height correct. The poi...

Tighten the idler? Maybe its having a hard time pushing the filament through the extruder.

Re: Newbie cant download Bed_Calibration.gcode

You typically want to download a .STL file and generate the .GCODE file from a slicer software with settings for your printer. I'm not familiar with the file your trying to download, but I wouldn't use it unless its from the lulzbot ftp site and the TAZ 4 is stock. Best way to level the bed is with ...

Re: Old vs New enclosure for the Taz6

Yep... complex question as piercet states. Any enclosure that traps heat is better than the printer sitting outside. Wood will probably be better insulator than acrylic / plastic. Foam could possibly be better than wood. The hardware store has accordion type foam that is .25in thick. Easy to cut and...
