Re: Mini 1 stops printing in middle of print.

If it's a mini 1, most likely it's your heater wire in your cable chain connecting to your heat bed. I've replaced it 3 times on my mini 1. The third time I got the mini 2 cable chain and Lulzbot was able to make me a mini 2 cable with Mini 1 connectors on it for a fee. It's MUCH more robust than th...

Re: Printer disconnecting mid print

In my history, this usually indicates a bad thermistor either in the toolhead or the heat bed or a broken wire in the two. The firmware tries to heat up the elements and if the thermistor doesn't respond as the firmware expects, it stops the print with a thermal runaway error service halted. It's a ...

Re: Taz 6 Aerostruder Z Axis Won't Home

I upgraded my stock taz toolhead to the aerostruder toolhead and updated the firmware for it. Now my Z Axis doesn't home. The z axis just goes up instead of down when above the z min switch. Has anybody else had this issue? I've tried all the latest firmware from 1.1.5 to 1.1.9. Did you make sure w...

Re: Extruder Head encased itself in ABS overnight!

There is an attachments tab next to the options tab.

In this case I'd say acetone is your only hope. Just remember all the other plastic pieces on your toolhead are ABS so you don't want to get those soaked. I mean....what's hte worst that oculd happen right? :)

Re: Printing issues after firmware update.

It may be nothing, but your Z offset is HUGE and has me suspicious. Typical Z offsets are usually 0.02.....0.1 mayyyyybe 0.15. Having it over 1mm makes me think leveling isn't working correctly or you're not setting your Z height correctly. Not an answer you're looking for, but it's something that s...

Re: Flat Face Blues

That last picture, while flat, it borderline overextrusion which can lead to other issues depending on what filament you use. A good first layer should have discernible nozzle passes. If they're smooshed together too much, you're going to build up nozzle back pressure and risk grinding. Just somethi...

Re: Filament grinding

Back off on your flow rate a few percent. One cause of filament grind is having your flow rate too high. I had this exact problem. Reduce your flow rate to the point where on your first layer each nozzle pass of filament just touches the one next to it. If you overextrude, nozzle pressure builds up ...

ABS tastes oily. PLA tastes like corn.

Re: Flat Face Blues

That's pretty much a perfect first layer. If you push the flow rate too much to smoosh the layer so there are no determinable nozzle pass lines, you're risking having more issues like chewing your filament in the hobbed bolt from back pressure. You've got a darn good first layer there. I wouldn't me...

Re: can not print a gear need help

So you say you're printing from octoprint. Have you tried printing the gear directly from cura on a PC with a direct USB connection. This would confirm or deny there's an issue with octoprint/faulty SD card. I've seen a fault SD card be the problem with failed prints numerous times. Make sure you ha...
