Re: Einsy Rambo 1.1 Mini 1

I've managed to get it to move everything in one direction but not the other regardless of which direction I tell things to move. Which makes 0 sense from what I've seen of the firmware, and I have had almost no time to debug.

Re: Einsy Rambo 1.1 Mini 1

Awesome, thank you. I'll give all this a go and see if it also helps my problems. If so, I can proooobably release a forked version of the firmware with a new profile for this setup.

I found space for all 3 fans and all the homing switches by stealing a 5v pin from the LCD connector since my Mini 1 doesn't have a screen.
Ooh, good plan! Can you send a photo of your board? What's not working with your setup?

Re: Mini 2!

It looks like there's a lot of logic tying sensorless homing with Z to the same with XY. It does not like breaking those out into separate things. Since I don't have enough pins to do all of the endstops on the new board (well, if I want to have all three fans), it looks like I'm might have to do at...

Re: Mini 2!

So homing is definitely not working. I have defined SENSORLESS_HOMING and it should be set to home up rather than down (since I don't have the new Z endstop). Here are my currently configured options for my custom build. For clarity, I'm trying to make the minimum number of changes to make a super-q...

Re: Mini 2!

Perfect, thank you. Now I have my board wired, and my custom firmware uploaded, but I'll clearly have to make changes. When I hit the Z Home button, the z goes down a bit and then stops, so hopefully just reversing a direction there. We'll see what other little changes I have to make. But the heater...

Re: Mini 2!

The Einsy Retro seems to not have a space for connecting the 24v case fan to. Is there a recommendation of the best way to deal with that?

Re: Einsy Rambo 1.1 Mini 1

I have found my biggest failing, which is that the Mini2 is using a new board, the Einsy Retro, which has things like z-endstop switches and 24v fan power supplies. So I'll probably have to dial this back a bit and, if I move forward, move the discussion into a hardware board.

Re: Einsy Rambo 1.1 Mini 1

And now that it's going to be some time before my mini is working, I'm wondering if the RepRapDiscount LCD screen will generally work with the conditionals set up for the mini2. https://ultimachine.com/collections/electronics/products/lcd-smart-controller-kit-from-reprapdiscount Probably best to wai...

Re: Einsy Rambo 1.1 Mini 1

The endstops are also different (no z endstop, which is presumably because of the fancy new board not needing it) and also they have different connectors. My wiring diagram from the sales page for the mini rambo also doesn't label the endstops, and has something hooked up to what's called exp 2 whic...
