Re: Two questions / LULZBOT TAZ 6

See my post here https://forum.lulzbot.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=5590&start=10#p35085. I built a toolhead with parts from i-t-w.com to print 1.75 with the correct parts. It will cost ~$100 but you'll have more flexibility. Trying to print 1.75 filament with the 3mm toolhead will most often lead to ja...

Re: Heat Creep on Taz 6 Single Extruder 2.1 - anyone else?

@InfiniteGinger I stuck with the Igus bearings (new set). I know many don't like but I still feel they are a superior bearing when all of the tolerances are right. They require no maintenance and are virtually silent (relative to the rest of the printer). I got the rods from i-t-w.com when the 6 fir...

Re: Heat Creep on Taz 6 Single Extruder 2.1 - anyone else?

That's really interesting nopick. Do you swap it in and out whenever you want to use the 1.75 filament? The method is loosely like the flexystruder however, the ptfe tubing isn't intended to be removed. I just ended up building my own toolhead by buying the parts from i-t-w.com as they sell the hexa...

Re: Heat Creep on Taz 6 Single Extruder 2.1 - anyone else?

Hi all. Thought I would share a couple of thoughts I have on the subject of heat creep and jams. For the purpose of the diagram i've created, i'm intending only to communicate generalized associations between 'Print speed', Hotend Temperature and filament jams'. I'm also not trying to address any of...

Re: 12 mm Rod Upgrade for TAZ

That work station looks great. We may have a spare tool head or two that could use some storage around here.... Any chance you can share your tool head holder hooks? Absolutely Brent.I. Thanks for noticing. I went ahead and posted it under the user gallery topic here . And here's the Thingiverse li...

Toolhead storage solution - latch and holder

I'm always trying to make the most out of the space I have and realized the other day that not only were my 3 alternate toolheads taking up a whole shelf in my cabinet but that I had unused space in the back of my enclosure on the flat walls so the idea hit me to print out and fasten several x-carri...

Re: 12 mm Rod Upgrade for TAZ

I've done the 12mm rod X axis upgrade using the Billyd mod. Drilling the plates was no big deal especially if you have a drill press. I'm very happy with the results and WAY less sag when using the dual extruder. Shameless showoff pic with my other latest mod (holders for my toolheads) and my Lulzbo...

Upgraded TAZ 4/5/6 Color LCD screen

Forgive me in advance if this topic has been covered but I didn't find anything in the Comprehensive list of Mods thread so i figure it hasn't been asked. I would love to replace my stock LCD with a nicer (color) lcd. I've wanted something like this for some time and it occurred to me once again las...

Re: My enclosure for Taz 6

I agree with Piercet regarding the need to channel cold air to the intake of the motherboard. Don't get me wrong, the design and build looks really nice. I based my enclosure off of the amazing work johnathan did in his Hotbox DIY Enclosure . You can see the printed intake part on the second image h...

Re: Howto: Change Hexagon hotend nozzle

Here's how I do it. I change nozzles at least 3-4 times per week and this has never failed me. I print with many different filaments and a range of nozzles from .25 to .6.
