Re: How do you download from code.alephobjects?

I tried the same with SmartGit but it requests a passphrase to do the clone. How do I do that? Unlike the github web interface, I don't see a "download as a zip" option on code.alephobjects.com? How do I get the 1.1.9.34 source files so I can recompile for some modifications I'm making to my Taz5 pr...

Re: where are the hexagon nozzles???

Any thoughts on which is preferred? On Matterhackers, is the best choice the stainless steel or the brass E3D nozzles?

Re: Cura vs. Slic3r

Does anyone have improved HIPS profiles for a Taz5 using Slic3r? I've been using the only one Lulzbot provides (https://www.lulzbot.com/content/taz-slic3r-profiles) but still am not happy with the results yet.

Anyone have some settings they've had good success with?

Thanks,

-Mike

Slic3r profiles for HIPS

Does anyone have good "fine" or "coarse" HIPS Slic3r profiles for a Taz5? I've just recently switched from Cura to Slic3r, and can only find a "medium" profile for Taz/HIPS at this location: https://www.lulzbot.com/content/taz-slic3r-profiles I'm unsure what sort of speed and fan settings adjustment...

Re: First Layer

I did experiment with Zhop as well. The Lulzbot PLA "fine" profile for Cura had this at 0.1 mm for all of these prints. Testing at 1.0 mm made things no better. Retract settings have been tried at default (1 mm distance, 10 mm/sec speed) and 5 mm distance with various speeds up to 35 mm/sec based on...

Re: First Layer

I thought it was overextrusion as well at first, but not really anymore. I have previously dialed down from 205 deg C to 190 deg C, to help with that. And I did previously increase the retraction from 1 mm to 5 mm and from 10 mm/sec to 35 mm/sec. The interesting thing that makes me think its not a r...

Re: First Layer

Has anyone seen this sort of "rib" feature before? I haven't been able to narrow down the cause.

Re: First Layer

Thanks -- I went through the "paper thickness" recalibration again and this time calibrate z a bit higher. That made all the difference - thanks! I do still have another issue that I haven't been able to find info on. When doing a fill, regardless of whether it's a bottom layer or top layer, I get b...

Re: First Layer

I've had my Taz 5 for a year and have printed over a hundred of great prints in PLA, ABS, and HIPS with the original 0.35 mm nozzle. I recently swapped out the Hexagon hot end with the 0.5 mm nozzle. That's the nozzle they shipped for the 2nd half of Taz5 production. I've been having terrible proble...
