TAZ 6 IGUS bearing failure / wearing out

I make a lot of use of my TAZ 6 printer for a multitude of projects at my Makerspace, and at home. ( I use it at least as much, if not more than, James from X-Robots uses his... and that's saying something ) After ~5000 hours of printing time, I was getting lots of wobble artifacts. I could gently t...

Cura creating support structures in mid-air

I downloaded and installed the Cura v21 for OSX today, and I'm finding that Cura is making support in mid-air ... there's no possible way for these support structures to print. Something is very wrong here... Screen Shot 2016-10-05 at 2.50.50 PM.png Screen Shot 2016-10-05 at 2.50.31 PM.png Screen Sh...

Re: Integrating a Filament Detector

I'm still looking for the source code to the LulzBot TAZ 6. Have the release code + patches been posted to devel.lulzbot.com, or just the binaries?

Re: Integrating a Filament Detector

Do you need to rebuild the firmware? Or will it work with the stock firmware currently shipping with the TAZ 6? Which pin on the RAMBO are you connecting to?

Re: Integrating a Filament Detector

I don't use a Raspberry Pi ( Octoprint/Octopi/AstroBox ) to control my printer. Plus, external "stop/pause" will wait for the buffer to drain the command ... by which time you have lost the print. when the filament runs out, it's important for the print to stop immediately , and the Lulzbot must giv...

Re: TAZ 6 changing filament

I'm using a TAZ6 with Cura, Slic3r, Simplify3D on OSX El Capitan and on OSX Sierra. I also use a RasPi loaded with AstroPrint to run G-code ( although I don't use the AstroPrint slicer ) with no issues. I do know what may be happening though. When I first got the TAZ 6, I also ran into many issues t...
