Re: Bed levelling time and misalignment

You need a firmware change to skip the leveling. If you try it without the start gcode, it will air print over the bed. Someone tried making a firmware that remembers the leveling points and only wipes them if you do another leveling, but had some problems with it. I find the leveling probe itself d...

Re: RC Airplane Project

I think it turned out quite nicely. Better than I would have done for sure. And you have some changes in mind to make the next build better. Good luck on the maiden!

Re: Erratic printing on Mini

Differences in the finish at layer changes and such is pretty normal. Slowing the speed down can help, but it's tricky to completely eliminate them. Retract is determined by the slicer. You might try changing settings, or even slicer software. Some programs work better for different parts. As this i...

Re: Changing Z-axis Home

I could be wrong, but the 6 should be like the mini I have. Z-home is the top of the printer. If you are scraping the bed, you need to adjust Z-offset and/or thoroughly clean the nozzle and washers. During the auto-level, the bed should not deflect at all on the second touch. Mine runs Z down fast t...

Re: Multi color print

This is what I did, it works well, but it is a bit time consuming to set up. https://forum.lulzbot.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4876 The trick is to make sure you don't do anything that would clear the leveling matrix. Avoid commands like "home". As I mentioned in that post, I don't know if running the p...

Re: Erratic printing on Mini

The first layer in the pic looks quite high. I find 0.4mm first layers work well for me, I use that regardless of the actual layer height. It also helps get that first layer locked down to the PEI. Speaking of that, you have sticking problems with PLA?!?!? That's weird. Maybe try to clean the PEI wi...

Re: What do you guys use to glue together your parts?

What area in walmart did you find weld-on or scigrip? I could use some good PETG glue. I can order it, but if I can get some locally that would be ideal.

Re: Erratic printing on Mini

I think it looks like over extrusion. Measure the filament diameter in a few locations and put the average in the software Turn the flow rate down to about 90%. Ideally, calibrate the e-steps for the extruder, but this is a good first start. Set the first layer line width to 100% (default is 120% or...

Re: Cura Not responding durring prints

I've seen that happen on OSX and Linux. The application gets stuck in a loop or something and locks the UI thread. I decided to avoid the issue entirely by mounting a Raspberry Pi running OctoPrint to the side of the printer and letting it feed the print jobs. The other benefit is I don't have to wo...

Re: Should I get Simplify 3D??

There were a number of config files posted, might have been in the Mini forum. You didn't say which machine you have, so sharing a profile is more complicated.
