Re: How did you learn to use your printer?

I borrowed a friend's when he was on the road (Brand new Mini Classic). After a couple of weeks of goofing with it, it broke. So broke he had to send it back to Lulzbot, but they fixed it. So when I came into some money (wife didn't like my motorcycle anymore, so I sold it) I bought what was then a ...

Re: Using loctite on heat block

Heat resistant Loctite(tm) is not pretty (sometimes it's great, just not here). Once it goes on you need to get it really hot to get it off, so hot it would possibly destroy anything not metal attached to it. It also will act as a "thermal break" between your components and I don't think this is a p...

Re: Nozzle is missing wiper pad and hitting mount

I had this issue with a previous Firmware release, my single print head would wipe both short on the X and Y dimensions. It is close to being off with a dual V3, but it doesn't rub anymore.

Re: [Dual Extruder v3] Filament Stops Feeding, Ruins Print, Can't get out Easily

The heatsink fan on the dual extruder is garbage. Replace it with this one from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072Q3CMRW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I did that and have had no failures or jamming since. You will also need longer bolts for the fan though. 2 M3x70mm a...

Re: TAZ 6 with e3d v6 - plenty of issues

You might want to make sure your cura settings match your new nozzle. I had issues when I replaced my (then stock) .4 nozzle with a (now stock) .5 nozzle. Next, if you got the hardened steel nozzle it will not heat nearly as well as the brass one, but will be less sticky. The plated brass nozzles fr...

Re: dual extruder options?

I think I fixed my dual extruder by adding a better 5v fan to cool the heat break. I used a fan with double the CFM than the stock one and so far have not gotten heat creep since the mod. Still experimenting on the fix.

Re: heat creep

I have upgraded both my Standard Taz6 and Dual V3 extruders with new fans. Lulzbot sells the pins. Here https://www.lulzbot.com/store/parts/molex-sl-22-24-awg-crimp-terminal-pin-x30 Before my V3 nozzle could only print for about 40 minutes before nGen got melted in the heat-break (1 plug was almost ...

Re: NGen Removal From TAZ6

For people still reading this thread. Be careful to check carefully anything that has "rubbing alcohol" on the label. Some of these even in concentrations of 70% and higher also have a Glycerin lubricant built in which will make it difficult for anything to stick to your print bed. I would assume th...

Re: Filament stuck in taz 6 dual v3

After finally clearing the blockage in Extruder 2 (by intentionally letting heat creep with the cooling fan removed), I had to do a lot of cold pulls and some other things to get my extruder path clear enough to use again. Then, I exchanged the 5V fan with this one "Noctua NF-A4x20 5V, 3-Pin Premium...

Re: Dual Head V3 VERY inconsistent

I think when you tell people to "Power off the printer" you need to make sure the power cable and the USB cable are both disconnected. A friend used a brass brush to clean the gunk off the nozzle and got a bit of a shock with the power off. Never happened when removing power to both USB and power ca...
