Say it ain't so!

I got this in the mail yesterday - Aleph Objects Inc. – LulzBot Printers Streamlining Operati ons Aleph Objects Inc. has reduced its staff as of today. Please be assured we will continue to manufacture and sell the LulzBot Mini 2, Workhorse and Pro series of printers and will continue to service the...

Tool Time

I recently decided to upgrade my cheap digital caliper. I decided to get a Mitutoyo. The reviews place these at or near the top. I went to Amazon and selected a model 500-197-30 for $148. What I received was a crappy Chinese knockoff. I got suspicious as I examined it closely. The outer packaging is...

Re: Enclosure Question - Attach to Taz?

phugger - Are you saying that you place the printer on the butcher block without the rubber feet? Trying to understand your post a little better but setting the printer on the butcher block alone is not any different that placing it on a very solid table. My Taz still has the rubber feet installed....

Re: Enclosure Question - Attach to Taz?

My Taz5 sits on a hardwood butcher block work table that weighs a ton. The printer sits directly on the wood surface and it's plenty stiff. https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2923/33345619680_d3f111b6b4.jpg The Overkill Enclosure I'm building is made out of T Channel Aluminum and Plexiglas. The Enclosure...

Re: Enclosure Duct

I tried to do this in HIPS last night and had some good results. I put Fillets on the corners that were splitting I still had some lifting/curling on the flanges that the Plexiglas slides into. I think that 20% support material may have been too much. I was able to heat those areas with a heat gun a...

Re: Enclosure Duct

I do have mine enclosed ghetto style (carboard) and it works OK. The splits did not happen until it cooled, after the print finished.
In addition to modifying the design, I can try some HIPS and see if the shrinkage is any better.
I want something that won't get droopy when warm.

Enclosure Duct

I'm working on my "Overkill Enclosure" (T-channel Aluminum and Plexiglas) and I needed to create a Duct to allow the electronics to breath fresh air. I designed this in Fusion 360 - http://a360.co/2nRzWv6 . It's basically a square tube that will seal off the Fan End of the electronics and penetrate ...

Re: 12 mm Rod Upgrade for TAZ

Thanks - it looks promising. What about the Stock 10mm rods? Is it OK to use the Linear bearings on them? My question is more general - are the stock rods hardened? What rods are required for linear bearings? I've read through the forums and picked up tid-bits of information, but I'm not sure about ...

Re: 12 mm Rod Upgrade for TAZ

I have a set of hardened 12mm rods and linear bearing for my Taz 5 X axis. I plan on installing them soon (almost done with my "Overkill Enclosure"). I would also like to upgrade all of the other bushings to linear bearings. I have a few questions about the other 10mm rods on the Taz (Z and Y axis)....

Re: Fans don't spin @ 24% Taz 6

That sounds about right. These fans don't spin up until around 20-30%. It sounds like you found your minimum. It's kind of dumb IMHO, but that's how they work. There is a minimum amount of juice that is needed to get it spinning.
