Re: Estep question

Thank you, I’ll check it out. My speed is 55s/mm which I thought was fairly slow, but I’ll try slowing it down further.

Estep question

Hey guys, so I have a Taz 5 (bought about 3 years ago) and I recently began doing some fine tweaks with it. (Don’t judge, I’ve been away from it for over 18 months). Did all the basics with bed leveling, heating filament/bed properly for the filament (inland PETG), disassembled and cleaned the hot e...

Should I add raspberry Pi........?

So let me be completely honest here, I know nothing about gcode, programming, or writing script. I do, however, know how to follow instructions if given clearly! So with that in mind is adding Raspberry Pi 3 to my Taz 5 something I should take on? I mainly want it for adding a camera to remote view/...

Re: Broken heatsink tube

Thank you for your reply! I have the v2 nozzle, the Taz 5 was purchased mid last year (July-ish) so it has the newer components on it. The more I thought about it, the more I too was leaning on going with the $40 part. Seems much easier all around. I guess the hardest part will be just rewiring the ...

Broken heatsink tube

Ok guys, so around Thanksgiving I had a mishap with my Taz 5. Being a first time owner I didn't realize just how delicate some of these parts are and I broke the heatsink tube from the heater block. Now yes I know I can buy an entire assembly for $70, but honestly all I think I need is just the heat...

Re: About over the PEI sheets

You should not be having that much damage to the PEI. I have printed thousands of parts on my machines... still using the original PEI. A little tuning should correct your problem. Also, using a thin tool you can slip under the edge of the part helps. I use a Cricut spatula. http://www.amazon.com/C...

Re: About over the PEI sheets

Great information! I will try adjusting the z height up. I'll continue to use the sheet I have until it's good as gone. Might look into buildtak! Thank you for all the suggestions!

About over the PEI sheets

So I think I'm PEI jinxed.....I've ripped 2 sheets in 2 months while trying to remove projects. I'm not using anything sharp, it's actually a painters spatula I got at Hobby Lobby. So I'm wondering, can I just get a cut piece of glass and clip it to the heated bed? (Taz 5) What thickness glass is be...

Re: Again, the bed got damaged

So it looks by that design he is using the stock fan already in the control box. No additional fan. I think I will still add a fan to pump more air into the control box. Thank you for the link!!
