Re: Custom TAZ enclosure

Finally upgraded my TAZ 2.1 to a TAZ 6 and needed to modify my printer enclosure. I always print in ABS which is why I needed the enclosure, and the enclosure captures the smell well so I can still work in my garage during long prints without getting headaches. The TAZ 6 has a different electronics ...

Re: The "Introduce yourself" topic.

A bit about myself: My name is Robert. I am a piano technician in Arizona. When I was young I use to sit on an upside-down 5 gallon bucket in my dad’s den watching him draft in CAD. He was a woodworker, then contractor, then maintenance director and now retired. Therefore, I grew up in a wood shop ...

Re: ABS build up around nozzle

I have never taken the nozzle off. Never checked to see if it was firmly seated on the threaded extension since unpacking it.

ABS build up around nozzle

There seems to be some build up coming from the top part of the nozzle threads. nozzle.jpg I figured the discoloration around the tip of the nozzle is normal, but the stuff leaking out the top is not. Any suggestions? I was reading how this might be an issue with PLA printing, but I have only printe...

Re: G-Code tricks and examples

you can speed up your temps a bit if you start heating the extruder when the bed reaches ~70C. You can time it so both temps reach target at about the same time. I'll give it a try and time my machine to find out. I am curious how much of a time difference it takes for the bed at different ambient ...

Re: Transfer 5lb filament roll to reel

...possibly a well trained pigmy goat. My pigmy goes home for the holidays and does not get back until mid January. Plus I try not to involve him, he eats all my filament. Thanks Orias and Jebba, those were exactly the photos I was looking for. I learned the hard way to remove that hook at the cent...

Transfer 5lb filament roll to reel

Does anyone know how to easily transfer a 5lb abs filament roll to a reel? I remember seeing once a picture on the Lulzbot server of Lulzbot's setup of using a cordless drill to power the orange reel to transfer the filament from a stand they made. I see they have a folder with the stl files, but I ...

Re: Nozzles clogging

If anyone is going to be cleaning their nozzle in the near future, could you take some pics of the process? Mine has been working without any problems, but I know eventually I need to clean it, and I'm a visual person.
