Re: Taz 5 e3Dv6 PT100 Thermocouple

Hello Nick, I can sympathize, since my very first post in this forum was on exactly the same problem. The PT100 is not defined in the original Taz 5 Marlin code. So you have to look for the newer thermistor tables, one that has the PT100 definitions. What I did was to just copy that information over...

Re: Any thoughts n the E3D Titan extruded?

I use the E3D Titan and there is a significant problem with it. Namely, the motor shaft is not supported in any way by the Titan's cover (even if there is a center hole on the cover). I have a thread on the Titan section of the E3D forum regarding a solution for it. My Taz 5 has a now modified Titan...

Re: Taz 5 e3Dv6 PT100 Thermocouple

Hello Nick, Yes I am using the PT100 kit from E3D, plus their Titan and hardened nozzles on my Taz5. Here are the pins that you need to connect to your PT100 (use the E3D PT100 AND use the E3D paired sensor kit): On the PT100's three pins you need to connect Pin 1 (5V Analog Ext) Pin 2 (GND Analog E...

Re: Looking for help choosing filament

Hi all, I'm an experienced 3D artist but brand new to 3D printing and am looking to buy a Taz6 in the next week or two. I am looking for some advice on filaments. I plan to make various cosplay items, helmets, props, etc... and need something that is durable like ABS but that doesn't have the toxic...

Re: Polymaker PC-Plus

I have tried running PC-Plus without using any glue but raising the bed temperature from the recommended 80C to 107C (5 deg below the glass transition temperature). The first part that I made stuck to the bed and printed without distortion. The second has curled up at one corner. So a mixed result....

Re: Polymaker PC-Plus

Hello Mike_N, I print almost exclusively in Polycarbonate - and I have used Polymaker's PC-Plus. First note, PC-Plus/Makrolon breaks easily (but is extremely well behaved) compared to Village Plastics PC that Lulzbot sells (I was online just to order two more Lulzbot PC filament). Anyway... Be caref...

Two PC rolls arrived from Lulzbot, both seals broken.

I was just wondering if other forum members experienced this before. I purchase filament all the time, and always they arrive vacuum sealed. Not today. I ordered and received two rolls of Lulzbot Polycarbonate rolls and BOTH seals of the plastic bags were broken. I am very confident that those seals...

Re: How to change Maxtemp ceilings in stock TAZ5?

You can use a thermocouple with a hexagon too. From a physics standpoint either will theoretically withstand 400c aside from the thermistor. You are going to start getting localized cold end warping above 375c unless you add shielding or cooling. I will attempt using a thermocouple as you suggested...

Re: How to change Maxtemp ceilings in stock TAZ5?

Raising those temperatures is not quite as simple as it seems at first. They are set where they are for a couple of reasons. To change the values themselves you would find a copy of the stock taz 5 firmware (devel.lulzbot.com should have it) open it up with the arduino development console, find the...

How to change Maxtemp ceilings in stock TAZ5?

Hello All! First post! I bought a Taz 5 new from the MicroCenter in Northern VA and overall, I am very happy with it (though it came out of the box with an idler broken in three pieces and a bed that bubbled when heated - but hey, I am easy  pic attached). I print predominantly with polycarbona...
