3D Platform's (3DP) Filaments

Hi,

According to a recent periodical I receive, 3DP has a sale on its filaments. Has anyone tried using their ABS? Current rate for their ABS is $55 for a 2.3kg spool.

Re: Filament Testing Notes

In my search for other manufacturers of ABS, I came across Sun Top (http://www.3d-filament.com.tw/175mm-ABS-Filament.html) which appears to be a company from Taiwan. They have both 1.75mm and 3mm ABS filament. While they claim to provide quality filaments, they are not on the Lulzbot lists. Are ther...

Re: ABS Woes - Need Assistance (pics attached)

I see the exact same issue with PLA, but not as bad with Alloy 910. Has the Lulzbot team changed or created any specific Cura profiles to print sphere type objects? Being an intermediate in this technology, I'm finding all sorts of shrinkage issues I did not expect to see.

Re: Best Filament for Outdoor Use

According to Technical Support at Lulzbot, ABS is my best bet. So, I ordered the enclosure kit and am preparing to build it. I've been doing other projects up til now. In response to GJG, I've been using XTC-3D (https://www.smooth-on.com/product-line/xtc-3d/) to seal my prints. This stuff is amazing...

Best Filament for Outdoor Use

Hi,

I'm attempting to develop some parts to build platforms for long trough planters. The issue is what filament will be strong and withstand the weather and sunlight sufficiently to not cause a catastrophic failure where my platforms break and my planters are on the ground with veggies destroyed?

Bridge Nylon for Salt Water Applications

I have been asked to print a nylon bushing for use in the rudder controls on a sailboat which is used in both brackish and salt water sailing. Does anyone have any experience with using Bridge nylon or the Alloy 910 for such an application? I am curious if the material will hold up to the salty envi...

Re: Bridge Nylon Interface Bulge

Hi, I went into the expert settings, but found nothing labeled slicer settings. I did find the initial layer thickness and initial layer line width. I changed the initial layer thickness from 125 to 100. But, I have no idea what to use for the initial layer line width. Is there some suggested settin...

Unraveling Spool

Hi, I a using a Lulzbot Mini printing with a Bridge Nylon. Some of my prints last about 4 to 5 hours as I am printing rocket parts for model rocketry. I am finding that as the print proceeds, the filament unravels off the spool, getting wrapped around the spool holder, and in some cases, preventing ...

Re: Bridge Nylon Interface Bulge

DougZ, So, I printed a set of rocket parts yesterday, and some of the parts had adhesion issues. After each print in the area of the print, I have been cleaning the bed with IPA (70% available at pharmacies), and then reapplying PVA. Yesterday was one pass with the PVA. This morning I am trying a do...

Bridge Nylon Interface Bulge

I am using a Lulzbot Mini with Bridge Nylon for making rocket parts, including motor mounting centering rings. The issue I am noticing is that the initial laying down of the material on the bed seems to bulge from the original specified model. It's producing a 0.5 mm ring that I have to file off in ...
