Re: Random temperature drop, firmware disconnection on Taz 5 Dual v2?

Alrighty, I will give that a look-see here shortly once I get my hands on a multimeter (don't have one at my location at the moment). That will then give us some hints at where to go in regards to the heating issue. Any tips for the firmware unresponsive/connectivity issue? Maybe the whole board is ...

Random temperature drop, firmware disconnection on Taz 5 Dual v2?

Alas, another 2 issues with this Taz 5 Dual v2 I've been working with. It seems determined to put me in an early grave. ISSUE ONE: There has been this issue with the Taz randomly disconnecting itself. I have reinstalled the firmware and checked its accuracy more times than I can count, to no avail. ...

Re: Stepper motors clicking, not engaging

Thank you for the reply. You were absolutely right. The motors could not extrude filament, and this is why they were clicking. I knew the bed needed calibrated and was trying to do that, but then didn't realize the extent to which things were out of whack. Somehow, someway, the whole entire X axis r...

Stepper motors clicking, not engaging

Using a Taz 5 dual extruder V2 and the stepper motor on the toolhead starts clicking and failing to extrude or print anything. It does this "click back" motion and just don't engage. This is an older video of this phenomena BUT it is happening the exact same again. https://drive.google.com/file/d/17...

Re: Huge blobs and gaps with Taz 5 dual extruder

Today I finally caught the weird sound it was making when it stopped extruding... stepper motor troubles?? Would this have anything to do with the trouble I am seeing? Seems like it to me. It just stops extruding. It is most pronounced in T1 but is occuring in T0 too. Video of sound and pictures of ...

Re: Huge blobs and gaps with Taz 5 dual extruder

Sorry for the delay. There is no spool binding, the idler tension is fine (I've changed filament multiple times and am always diligent to check the hobbed bolt and idler tension), the filament diameter is set correctly (2.85 and I checked it with a micrometer multiple times). I have also redone all ...

Re: Huge blobs and gaps with Taz 5 dual extruder

Yes - prints with just the white (T0) come out smooth and near perfect. It's only when trying to do a dual extrusion are things coming out weird. When doing a pretty simple and flat dual extrusion, it comes out fine as well. It's only when trying to print with the 2nd nozzle (T1/red) as supports onl...

Huge blobs and gaps with Taz 5 dual extruder

I've recently become responsible for a Taz 5 dual extruder. I do not know much about its history or previous problems so am just taking things at face value for the moment. The filament being use is Chromastrand Innova 1800. The dual extrusion feature is really gnarly... The in the images below, the...

Lulzbot Mini - gaps in layers using Chromastrand

Hello all! I've recently become responsible for two more 3D printers. This is in regards to the Mini. I do not know much about its history or previous problems so am just taking things at face value for the moment. This machine is primarily run by outside users who have beginner/novice skill level. ...

Re: Mini causing drag, not adhering

This is a file we've printed at least 200 times before. Never had an issue associated with the file. It's just the 1st two layers having problems. It's almost like they are too thick or something. However... result is the same when changing height of 1st layer (from default 0.4125 to trying 0.15, 0....
