Re: Taz 5 and Mosaic 2 pro

The kit has a idler with a clip for the tube from the the palette and 2 PTFE tubes that you put in the extruder to convert it to 1.75mm. You will probably need to make adjustments to the retraction settings and travel speed settings to get it work. Due to the PTFE tube in the hot end you have to kee...

Re: TAZ modular bed... metal plate sags.

ditto to this issue, on a taz5 so there's plenty of room for sag worried its affecting the bed temp being inaccurately reported  (says 60 but since sensor is embedded with element... is actually far less) On the TAZ5 you can mitigate the sag by putting 4 of the TAZ6 wiper pads between the be...

Re: OctoPrint With Cura Lulz Edition

In theory you could create a Cura-LE engine plug-in but it takes a lot of work to do. Same deal with upgrading to a newer version of Cura: https://discourse.octoprint.org/t/newer-curaengine-some-day/54 I run Cura-LE on my desktop and use the print via Octoprint option in Cura to send my prints from ...

Re: Bought a used 5, and it's in sad shape.

You can get the GLCD from RepRap Discount: https://ultimachine.com/collections/electronics/products/lcd-smart-controller-kit-from-reprapdiscount If your extruder has lots of problems you might want to look at upgrading to the Taz Aerostruder or a new V2 single extruder. In case you get really stuck ...

Re: New TAZ 6 Modular Bed without PEI Print Surface

No, you can't print directly on the metal bed heater.

The glass bed comes with PEI on one side and glass on the other.
If you don't want to print on the PEI side, you just turn it over so the glass is up.

Re: Printing Larger Than The TAZ 6 Build Volume

You can use a program like Meshmixer to cut the mesh (STL file) into parts that will fit on your TAZ so you can print them. Once you have the parts printed out you glue them all together. There are YouTube videos on how to do this and how to make guide pins to make easier to glue the parts together.

Re: Saggy modular heat bed

For my Taz5 printer support had me put 4 Taz6 wiper pads under the heater to support it as a temporary fix. I am attaching the picture below on how the pads were arranged. The pads actually do support the head bed up against the glass and has uniform heating across the glass bed. If your printer is ...

Re: Modular Build Plate

I'm going to wait until we get a better bed option, it being modular doesn't do much good if it's just the same print surface we already have. Spring steel with powder coated PEI like the Prusa MK3 would be awesome. It would be nice, but it might be really long wait. Prusa hit manufacturing issues ...

Re: Modular Build Plate

I just installed the Lulzbot modular build plate on my TAZ 5 and tried it out by printing a small test model with ABS. I found the ABS would not stick to the build surface no matter what I tried. For the heck of it I checked the build plate temperature with an IR thermometer and found that the buil...
