Re: auto shut off

The printer itself doesn't have this capability but there are other solutions available.

Re: Detail print quality

Are the nozzle sizes identical? I'm guessing the FlashForge is .4mm and the TAZ 6 is .5mm.

For small detailed items like this, the nozzle diameter can have a big impact. As an experiment, try printing on the TAZ 6 at 125% of the original.

Re: cleaning unmounted too head w/24V?

This sounds scary to me. Without the feedback from the thermistor to control the temperature, I'd think a meltdown is inevitable.

I've always thought that an extension cable would be useful in these circumstances.

Re: Ultimaker Cura 4.2 commands

I'd look at the start code for one of Ultimaker's Dual Extruder printers to see if there are variables there that you could use.

Re: Convert Aerostruder to 1.75, how?

I believe the Aerostruder is using mostly E3D parts so you should be able to order from E3D the 1.75mm parts and replace them. You will also need to create new firmware for your modified Aerostruder (the sources are available from LulzBot) and, of course, change settings in your slicer. You could al...

Re: Printer is extruding VERY SLOW

Unless the printer has specific support for resuming from a power failure, it is highly likely that you won't be able to just "pause" and "resume" a print an hour later successfully. The current state of the printer including feed rates, etc. is spread out over multiple GCode commands with the assum...

Re: Matter Hackers Build Series PLA - Profile

In reality, there are usually only a couple of changes needed to modify a profile for a new brand of the same type of filament. The biggest one is probably the default temperature. I have found that even within the same brand of the same type, I may have to make small adjustments when switching from...

Re: Linear Advance with Dual Extrusion

The workaround for me was to put it into the main PRINTER start gcode, but I don't think this is the correct way Cura should work. I think Cura should execute the gcode in the correct Hot end start gcode regardless of printing with one, two or both extruders. If Cura executes the appropriate Extrud...

Re: ColorChange plugin is bugged

ColorChange probably suffers from the same issue that PauseAtHeight suffered from. The changes to PauseAtHeightorLayer (or is it LayerorHeight) can be copied over to fix it. The issue has to do with rafts, start gcode Z changes, etc. The plugin needs to identify the "real" layer 1 and start counting...
