Re: Fast Settings advice (Looks don't matter)

You don't say how large they are (i.e. how long a layer takes to print), nor how many you wish to print at once... but those are important considerations. First, though, if it t'were me, I'd stick with PLA (time to heat up and cool down the bed is much faster than the hotter temps required for ABS)....

Re: Autoleveling questions

Your Y axis is probably out of adjustment. This could be because the head is loose - so check that first (wiggle it, it should have no looseness, although it will flex a bit on the rods). If not that, then check the bed itself -- it may move side to side a bit (the bearings are often pretty loose in...

Re: cura first layer

Ideally yes. If you have .50 nozzle, it's hard to get that big a first layer, though. When I print a calibration cube, I set the first layer to the same height as the others (usually 0.20 or 0.25 is my preference). Some may argue that setting a large first layer height is necessary because the inten...

Re: M106 GCODE with Fan Index

Ah - the dual extruder -- yeah "details" like that are important! :D

My post assumed the standard single extruder with the dual fans -- it's not pertinent to your situation, so please ignore it entirely.

Re: M106 GCODE with Fan Index

I'm presuming that your printer is a TAZ, with the two extruder fans on each side and the hot-end cooling fan on the front of the print head, right? The cooling fan on the front is hard-wired to the +5v line, and cannot be speed controlled nor turned off -- and that's a good thing. The two extruder ...

Re: FlexyStruder gear not moving

Can you hear the motor on the flexystruder turning when you try to feed filament? Note that you have to do this when the extruder is hot -- the firmware will refuse to feed filament if it does not think the print head is hot enough... So, make sure that the printer is reporting to Cura or Octoprint,...

Re: Can the Taz6 move the 3kg spool from Polymaker?

Oh the frame is plenty strong to hold that spool if you mount it on top -- and doing so would avoid the drag from hauling the filament through the tube from the side. But, I wonder if that much mass up on top so high might start "dancing" about a bit, particularly if the back-and-forth movement of t...
