TAZ Dual V3 Cooling Mod?

Has anyone come across a mod or tips to help improve the cooling of this toolhead? I'm not talking about the heatsink for the brake, but the actual fans/ducts to cool the print. I am getting really tired of having to direct a small fan I have at the print in order to reduce the PLA curling. Printing...

Re: Taz 6 - Wavy lines on first layer

The first layer is hard to tell (and after seeing the entire print), the print appears very under extruded. I would check your filament size (calipers), and also verify that you have the size correct in Cura. May also check the steps on your extruder to make sure that it's extruding exactly how much...

TAZ Dual V3 jams

After returning my V2 and getting the V3, I am having a hard time liking it. The filament path is horrible and I am having a hard time finding the sweet spot for retraction and tool change. Right now I am trying to print a batch of small clips that need PVA support, but the main extruder (E1) keeps ...

Re: Dual V3 and Simply3D

or neither. The TAZ knows where the nozzles are from the firmware (for wiping and probing), and using M218 can easily cause that to go off the rails. In the G-Code page in S3D, look for the "Toolhead Offsets" section and set the X=-6.5 for T0 and X=+6.5 for T1. Make sure you check the "Apply toolhe...

Re: TAZ Dual V3 failures

Is that your regular retraction or the tool change retraction, under the Other tab? I'm using eSUN PLA+ for a two color print. I increased the temp from 208c to 213c as well as the tool change retraction down to 6mm from 13-15mm range. Also increased the normal retraction from 1.5 to 2mm. So far, no...

TAZ Dual V3 failures

Ok What are people having success with for the tool change retraction amount? I assume my issue might stem from that, but also maybe heat creep? I am getting pretty consistent failures on dual extrusion prints. After about 4-5 layers into a job, the filament stops extruding, roughly around the same ...

Re: Odd Movement using Compiled DualMetalTAZ Firmware

Putting them into the slicer seems like a work-around, the firmware should always have a way to adjust or set the offsets. The issue is that I use Simplify3D and it keeps inserting M218 X-52 in my startup script which is not my offset. I got sick of having to remember and change it each print. No ma...

Re: Odd Movement using Compiled DualMetalTAZ Firmware

Found the issue! When specifying a negative value for the offset, it moves the Y axis on the first move after tool change. (T1). I made them absolute values and it doesn't do the odd movement, but the second head prints almost 100mm off now... :( Surely someone else has inputted negative offsets and...

Also, the beep/click isn't there when I click the encoder wheel. Kind of odd.

Odd Movement using Compiled DualMetalTAZ Firmware

Hi I downloaded the 1.0.0.1 TAZ 5 Dual v2 firmware and changed the offsets for my second extruder. It compiles (although with some warnings about pins.h being re-initialized or something (don't recall the exact message). After switching to the second hotend (T1) and issuing a move or extrude (exampl...
