Re: Dual V3 - A Review - Wait for V4? - Heat Creep Still A Problem

After going to Fry's and striking out on finding a 5v fan, I realized that there is another source. I happen to fly RC airplanes, and remembered that many ESCs use a 40mm fan. So I stopped by a hobby store, and sure enough they had this in stock, an ESC fan from Castle Creations (an RC company): htt...

Re: dual extruder options?

I have heard so many reviews complaining of inadequate cooling and jamming. What fan did you buy? Also, I noticed there was a service bulletin where some v3 toolheads had a thermistor that was intermittently connecting due to "under-crimped" connector, leading to overheating. Are you sure the proble...

Adapter for the Aerostruder V2 Micro..?

I bought the 0.25mm tool head when it was first announced (2 months ago). But it is not compatible with either of the printers I have (Taz6 & Mini original version). The original press release said that an adapter for these other printers would be released "in the coming weeks," which implies "soon"...

Re: New Aerostruder Micro tool head?

I just received the new toolhead, but need to wait for the Taz6 and/or Mini 1 adapters. In the meantime,....I wonder how to set up Simplify3D for the new toolhead. Other than the obvious (setting nozzle diameter to 0.25mm), is there anything else I need to do? For example, there is a firmware settin...

Re: Auto-level process pushing too hard

Increase the wiping temperature in the Cura Start/End G-code, and save it. If you look in the code, you'll find two instances of M109 S140. Change those to M109 S160. That will help it clean better, and probe better in my experience. I think the PLA was just a bit too thick to clean well, and too t...

Re: What is difference between Accel and Amax?

One update - I initially wrote units of mm/sec2 above, but now I think that might be wrong, at least for some of them. I started looking in the Marlin SW for this, and I see that it uses both steps/sec^2 and mm/sec^2 for various parameters. Since X/Y is about 100.5steps/mm for X/Y, that would accoun...

What is difference between Accel and Amax?

I have some ringing/ghosting, so I was going to decrease acceleration and possibly jerk. The Advanced Settings have these parameters for acceleration: Accel 500 A-retract 3000 A-travel 500 Amax X 9000 Amax Y 9000 Amax Z 100 Amax E 10000 I think A-travel is for non-printing moves. Given that every in...

Re: Cura 2.6.63 cannot find/change any parameters

I think I found it! There is a small button on the right side that says "Recommended" or "Custom". When that is pushed over to "Custom", then the parameters appear under that button. This program essentially has no documentation....it is like a puzzle game.

Cura 2.6.63 cannot find/change any parameters

My screen looks nothing like the manual, and I cannot find a place to change any of the many parameters described in the manual. Some examples: 1. There is no overhang view. Only Solid, Xray, Layer. 2. If I go to either Settings or Preferences, I find a "settings visibility" menu, in which all of th...
