Re: T-nuts for TAZ 6

The t-slot rails on the taz 6 are about 5mm wide. The "slip in" t-nuts need a slot a little bigger than 6mm. I have tried several types of slip-in nuts but haven't found one that can fit in anywhere but the end. I ended up using a dab of silicone glue to anchor the nuts in the right place so I can w...

Re: Dual V3 and Simply3D

Using M218 shows up correctly in the S3D gcode preview, because it ignores the M218 and doesn't understand that T0 and T1 are in different locations. The preview looks funky if you enable toolhead offsets (since they are applied to all gcode coordinates that aren't in the scripts), but the actual pr...

Re: V3 Dual Nozzle Height

There are a couple of ways of fixing this with varying levels of ugly: #1 Level the X rails (plenty of examples how to do this in the forum) Carefully quantify how far off the nozzles are (feeler gauge, try to get to 0.01mm accuracy) Turn off the TAZ Measure how far apart the Z screws are (?400mm) R...

Re: Dual V3 and Simply3D

You want either: M218 T0 X0 Y0 ; set T0 offset M218 T1 X13 Y0 ; set T1 offset or M218 T0 X-6.5 Y0 ; set T0 offset M218 T1 X6.5 Y0 ; set T1 offset or neither. The TAZ knows where the nozzles are from the firmware (for wiping and probing), and using M218 can easily cause that to go off the rails. In t...

Re: Dual Extruder V3 - why angle the filament channel?

The shared heat break parts and hot ends close together are key features of the V3 design. The drive end is spaced widely apart by the big drive gear and stepper motors. So you get the curved path to bring the feeds close together. I had a problem with the V3 grinding the filament after a while (sev...

Re: Service Bulletin: Thermistor Issue in Aerostruder and Dual Extruder v3 Tool Heads

I PM'd the changes to Marcio about 2 weeks ago (in response to the similar troubles that others are having), but he seems pretty busy at the moment. I am currently using a modded (bltouch and a couple of custom toolheads) 1.1.8.8. The changes are all in temperature.cpp. Here's a trimmed down version...

Re: Service Bulletin: Thermistor Issue in Aerostruder and Dual Extruder v3 Tool Heads

The temperature readings are a little noisy, but the toolhead works okay. Printing polycarbonate at 280C shut down once with an over-temperature spike. I wiggled the harness everywhere (sensor to rambo board) but couldn't get the indicated temperature to also wiggle. Of note in my case - the noisy t...

My V3 does not have a sticker. Not even an e-steps sticker.
