Re: Taz 5 Dual Extruder 3 Issue

I have a 6 and if any connections expected at boot are not there, it will halt with a related error, so probably. Time to break out a multimeter. FWIW, I was one of the early V3 dual thermistor connection failure victims last year, I resolved it by soldering all the thermistor related connectors on ...

Re: Modular Bed fitting to TAZ 6

I made a set like that last week with TPU @0.15mm layers and replaced the OEM corners. Installing the modular bed went a lot easier, the washers laid level first try, without having to fuss with loosening and tightening the corners to get it all to set correctly. Bonus was not having the sensation t...

Re: LED strip lights on top rails

Better late than never? I considered using the internal power supply, but there are enough posts of issues with electronic oddities in the controller made me leery of tapping into it. The printer power switch cuts the AC into the unit, so I have no hesitation using an external power switch. I use a ...

Re: TAZ modular bed... metal plate sags.

FWIW, I have been using a cut to fit piece of carbon fiber welding blanket under my beds, both OEM and modular. It improved the temp stability and consistency across the bed with OEM and It appears to prevent sag on the modular, also. Update: I printed new corners with 1mm lower bed pads. Super easy...

Re: Dual V3 Head Not Ready for Prime Time

Thanks for the article. The problem connection is with a single conductor and it's not in a position subject to movement, so soldering is relatively safe. Without wiggling my blame finger because I am too lazy to look up the connector specs and mic the conductor, I suspect that the conductor is too ...

Repro is pretty simple, just note the timing of e1/e2 during the Purge cycle. E2 is noticably shorter. Did someone file a bug on this yet? I think aleph had a customer ticket system.
Does configuration count as a code bug?

Re: V3 dual purge sequence on E2 not purging material

The reason why E2 (T1) doesn't purge is because Marlin does not maintain current E for each extruder, only a global E value. At the beginning of the Start Gcode, T0 and T1 are set to 0 (G92 E0) and then retracted -15 (G1 E-15 F100). (Global E is -15) After "M117 Purging...", T0 is moved to E0, set ...

Re: Dual V3 Head Not Ready for Prime Time

The problem for me was the thermistor leads to crimp connection. The thermistor leads are a single, small solid conductor and the connectors are 2 pin, inside the loom between the thermistors and the main connectors for the print head. All of the crimps to the thicker, stranded wire tested OK. Again...

Re: Total NOOB with soooo many questions...

The thermistors are set at different depths in the hot ends. Check to see if the set screw for E2's thermistor is missing, I had that experience and it was a contributing factor to temp instability. Also look at the V3 service bulletin. For the rest of it, Google, trial and error. Welcome to the big...

Re: V3 dual purge sequence on E2 not purging matrial

I'm doing OK with priming towers, PLA and PolyDissolve. I cut the size of the tower down to 15-20mm but made the walls thicker- 3mm. Probably not good for prints with a higher Z level printing, I've been under 3cm so far. As for the temp swings, possibly bad crimps on the thermistor connector, they'...
