Re: Lulzbot PLA age?

I dried the Lulzbot filament for 6 hrs at 48 deg C and when done it was quite flexible compared to when I started however it still wanted to ball up when in use. I tried to print a temp. Tower from 220 to 180 but the layers just wouldn’t adhere to each other so I am guessing it it toast.

Re: Temperature ladder

OK thanks for the response.
So without be able to adjust the set point for each temperature step, what would the procedure be for printing a temperature ladder on my original Mini?

Temperature ladder

Folk have advised me to print a temperature ladder with new filament to determine the best hot-end temperature to use with it. Is there a way to automate this so that the temperature set point is adjusted automatically at each step?

Re: Lulzbot PLA age?

Thanks for the advice. I'm currently in the process of converting a little surplus bar fridge into a dehydrator. I had an Arduino and most of the parts needed sitting around doing nothing. In it I'll be able to dry and maintain all of my opened spools of filament. I should have it working in a week ...

Re: Z-level height

The same thing happened to me and I eventually found that the nozzle had come loose and unscrewed which lowered it onto the bed.

Re: Lulzbot PLA age?

I have no idea how long they had it at the school. Does it deteriorate just in storage? As I said it was still vacuum packed and the cardboard box was sealed. I also purchased a selection of other 3mm filament some also new and some opened. I have tried some of it and it has been ok, it was opened b...

Lulzbot PLA age?

I purchased a complete and unopened package of Lulzbot PLA filament at a high school fund raising sale recently. It was still vacuum packed and in the box. When I opened it and tried to use it, I discovered that it is extremely brittle and virtually impossible to straighten it enough to insert into ...

Re: lulzbot mini smashing the sensor washers, again.

I purchase my Mini used and not working. I repaired a broken wire and got it working but then the nozzle would hit the washers ver hard. After a while I realized that the nozzle was loose and gradually unscrewing. I tightened it when it was hot and that solved my problem. Sometimes I get buildup on ...
