Re: RazzMaTAZZ - my KITTAZ Build

It does make a big difference! I have not tried the self lubricating bearings so can't say much about them. I think actual ball bearings rolling are always going to provide less friction than surface-to-surface contact though. I swapped all 3 axes at the same time, so yes, Z are ball bearings too "...

Re: A Strategy for Obtaining Great Prints

To answer my own questions:
Lulzbot spools fit great, and you can fit up to 5 in one 5 gal bucket!

Re: Astrosyn dampers

While I did my linear guide conversion I also added Astrosyn vibration dampers on all 4 steppers: http://mhackney.zenfolio.com/img/s12/v180/p472538440-3.jpg They really do make the printer noticeably quieter. I use them on all of my printers. Are the Astrosyn ones much better than cork ones shown h...

Re: A Strategy for Obtaining Great Prints

Thanks Wolfie, I am about to finally have the problem of too many started filament spools. Sounds like I will be packing and drying cat litter this weekend. Good Stuff. Questions: 1. Do the Lulzbot 1 kg spools fit in the 5 lb buckets? I use PLA if that matters. 2. If the Lulzbot spools fit, can you ...

Re: Converting old TAZ 4 extruder to flexystruder

Stupid question, Are the printed parts hard to print? Can they be PLA, (do any of them need to be flexible?).. I am pretty excited by this project. Once I get the new extruder I would love to convert it as well. If things quiet down, I might be doing this sometime in April. I will try to see if you ...

Re: TAZ 5 Left Side Fan Duct

Thanks for the link! I have a left side fan already hooked up to my KitTAZ, but I had to hook it up to the 2nd extruder fan slot on my RAMBO. If I ever add a 2nd extruder, or if I upgrade to the new all metal hot end, the one I have will need to be rewired. Just soldering too leads is easy enough. T...
