Re: Hex Hot end, few quick questions...

Ya that's interesting. I have a hunch that things get exponential as the degrees go up, so maybe that's why we're not seeing this done with a hot end that can do 300 degrees. Maybe the heat sink required for that would just end up being too large afterall. Who knows, I have a lot of aluminum lying a...

Re: Hex Hot end, few quick questions...

Right, I get that, just wondering if anyone has actually experimented with it...you could make a larger heat sink with larger fins for little cost in weight at the sizes we're talking about, the effects of the extra mass would be negligible, we're not talking about adding a pound of weight, would pr...

Re: Hex Hot end, few quick questions...

Yes, nice work. If I have problems in the future, I'm going to use your mod for sure.

But what I'm saying, is a fan even necessary in the first place? What about just some reworking of the heat sink?

Re: Hex Hot end, few quick questions...

All good to know... yes, there's definitely something going on with the nozzles. Good to know that you had success after cleaning them, there's this old trick for cleaning seat valves in carburators (which basically look exactly like the inside of a nozzle). you take a q-tip and some metal cleaner, ...

Re: Hex Hot end, few quick questions...

Yes, new to it for sure. Just installed it yesterday and it jammed.....but now that I cleaned it, it's been printing all day, 8+ hours. But here's the thing, I changed the nozzle with a .4mm one I had as a spare that I got from 3dindustries.com. Looks like that did the trick, so the nozzle that came...

Re: Acetoning red ABS

Do you rub it on with a brush? or pour it on? Anytime I physically apply acetone to any of my ABS parts I get that white hazy coating. But if I vapour smooth them using acetone vapour or heating acetone to become vapour I get the best results, smoothest, strongest objects with zero residue. Just an ...

Re: Best filament for plastic injection molds

Cool project, tryr to share if you can....I'll be doing 3DP to metal casted parts in the near future. Can't wait, it's going to revolutionize my design work. I just need to find a good, cheap back yard foundry person....if anyone has any contacts, let me know. What is it 3% shrinkage that needs to b...

this is cool. So I'm assuming it's designed for buddashnozzle then? I wonder if this would work for the Hex hot end also. Could get rid of one fan....

Re: Problem : Corners lifting on parts while printing

Honestly, if you've tried everything that everyone has suggested, there's no reason that it shouldn't work. So what you have to start looking at now is other things like, the filament. Have you tried a different brand of filament? You said you covered the printer, can you explain further, maybe it w...
