Re: nGen filament profile for 0.35 hexagon

The default profile definitely works consistently, it's just painfully slow. I do have a slightly modified profile that I created and it seems to work just as well. It doesn't cut down completely on print times but it helps. I'll attach the profile to this post.

Re: nGen filament profile for 0.35 hexagon

Another thing...

When I use the TAZ 4 filament profile, when the print finishes, it brings the Z-axis all the way up instead of just moving the hotend to the x-home location (and leaving the Y and Z axes alone) like most filament profiles. Was this intentional?

nGen filament profile for 0.35 hexagon

Hi All, Is there a filament profile for nGen on a TAZ 5 that uses the 0.35 mm hexagon hotend? On the website, I only see it available for TAZ 1 - 4 in that size and the TAZ 5 is only for the 0.5mm hotend. If I use the TAZ 4 profile, the print is VERY slow and by default prints a brim. Since I have a...

Inova 1800 print time

Hi Everyone, I noticed that when switching to Inova 1800 from PLA, the print time drastically increases. For example, on a reasonably sized print like the Mod Spool Tower http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1608830 , with PLA, the estimated print time in CURA is 5.5 hrs but when I switch to Inova-1800,...

Re: Random wait for user input

I recently experienced this for the first time. I was using CURA on a relatively large print turned 45 degrees from square aka diagonal. I started the print over though and it worked fine the next time.

Re: ABS filament too hot?

As stated above, this is a pretty common problem with ABS, especially with large, flat prints. Most folks who want to continue to print with ABS will build or buy an enclosure for their TAZ. I have found that keeping the air temp around the print between 85 - 90 F prevents layer delamination.

Re: About to give up on PLA

I, along with many others, have had similar thoughts about abandoning PLA. I've gone to one extreme in printing a mount and adding an 80mm computer fan to the hotend to deal w/ the heat creep issue https://forum.lulzbot.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2054&start=30 . In the end, and this is going to sound ...

Re: TAZ 5 80mm Fan Shroud -- Files linked

I took the 80mm fan and fan shroud off the hotend and added the piece of electrical tape between the squirrel cage blower and heat sink fins and have been printing with success. I've printed a few 4 - 9 hr prints with no problems. I guess this is the best solution.

whatever works right?

Re: ESUN filament snapping over night - too old?

I'm having the same issue with eSUN PLA. Was good for a couple of prints after unwrapping but snapped in the bowden tube in a couple of spots after the print finished.

The printer is not in an enclosure and I'm in CO (a pretty dry climate). Maybe I'll switch back to village plastics?
