Re: Print Resolution

I'm still not having a lot of luck with this print on the TAZ. For the following pictures, the only change was to get the .gcode from Slic3r instead of Cura. IMG_1720.JPG IMG_1721.JPG As you can see, it's still pretty gnarly along the edges. However, there were some small improvements in other parts...

Re: Slic3r won't finish export

I always blamed the slowness one poor old core 2 duo processor... Maybe it's a bug. I haven't been running Slic3r since upgrading the PC so I wouldn't know if that helps. I'm happy to hear your up and running. I'm actually running Slic3r on my workstation: 16gb mem, i7 quad core, nvidia quadro vid ...

Re: Print Resolution

Thanks for the reply edlink. I have prepared a gcode file using slic3r and the settings you recommended. I am currently trying just running the print from a slic3r gcode file that I already exported. I'm basically just seeing if there will be a big difference between the Cura and Slic3r prints. I wi...

Thanks nopick! That definitely decreased the export time. I will see what effect, if any, it has on the quality of the print tomorrow.

Re: Print Resolution

Well, as it turns out, I've already added that duct. ducted duct.PNG Complete with "duct seal". Does it cause a rip in the space-time continuum if you use duct tape on an actual duct? Also, as you can see, it's working on the very same print which I'm asking about in this thread. SO...what else coul...

Re: Print Resolution

Here's a picture of a print I tried with the black lulzbot PLA 13.JPG As you can see, there's quite a bit of overhang, errors, and rough loops where there should be a fine edge. For this print, I was using the recommended PLA (185/50) settings and used Cura Lulzbot Edition, medium PLA. For the follo...

Print Resolution

I'm not sure if this goes in filament or software but here goes: I'm having issues getting decent print resolution on a "heart gears" print. I also have an Ultimaker2 so I would like to post some comparison pictures and then discuss what I could be doing right/wrong with the TAZ4. The following pict...

Re: Springy PLA - Is this normal?

Thanks for responding to my topics Orias. This forum has been a valuable resource for me; a 3D printing novice. I noticed this week, that if I increase the temp above 192 C, the filament extrudes smoothly. So, I'm wondering if the temperature profile for the filament is a few degrees too low. Either...

Slic3r won't finish export

Hi All, I have been having trouble getting Slic3r to finish exporting a .gcode file. It just hangs up on the last step, "exporting G-code to..." slic3r export problem.PNG As you can see, I am using the Slic3r profile provided on the Lulzbot site. It is doing this with multiple files. In this case, i...

Re: PLA errors, ideas?

I tried printing the vase with the translucent blue PLA and using the 'spiralize' function. There's quite a seam that shows up down the length of the vase. The seam is where the extruder would change direction during the print. I think the apparent random pattern came out pretty interesting. IMG_168...
