Re: Replacment printed parts for the Taz 5

I wanted to mention that you will need to make sure you check your nozzle size, as many of the parts that have the pre-existing gcode file are made to use the 0.5 MM nozzle. They tend to use the larger nozzle size to print them faster, but they are tweaked to run fast and give a good print result. S...

Re: Roctopuses rock, but sponges sock

You can try and set the skirt to print as high as your part to block the layer to layer temp changes that tend to cause lifting on the corners by cool air. It is something like skirt line counts 999 in Cura expert settings.

Re: Confusing slicer issues

Loading both the STL files there into Netfab shows they have errors in the models, so they will not slice properly.

Re: Simplify3D profiles for the Lulzbot Mini?

I noticed you did not use/have the Simplfy3d variables in the Scripts tab starting gcode. [bed#_temperature] or [extruder#_temperature], you look to have the Cura ones in there. {print_temperature} and {print_bed_temperature} ;M190 S{print_bed_temperature} ;Uncomment to add your own bed temperature ...

Re: Bed Temp Change after uploading firmware on Taz5

Any reason a standard 100k resistor can't be used in the same way? Cheap and I got boxes of 1/8th watt resistors laying around. If the software isn't smart enough to realize its unplugged, I can't imagine its smart enough to tell that its exactly 100k and not changing :) It is more of having someth...

Re: Simplify3D profiles for the Lulzbot Mini?

I will have to check the factory file out tomorrow when I work on some Mini's. Maybe I can refine my setup that I use now. :ugeek:

dutchhome wrote:Thats a great idea. How are you connecting the thermistor? Did you put it in its own four pin connector?
Yes, I set it up to plug on to the second extruder pins, and when I change back to the dual I just unplug it and plug in the other head/carriage.

Re: Bed Temp Change after uploading firmware on Taz5

If you re-flash your firmware you have to do the PID calibrations because the code has default values it used, thus is not actually tuned to your bed and extruder. As for the dual to single change, the dual firmware is looking for a thermistor reading for each extruder and if you have the single ext...

Re: Printing from SD card on TAZ 4 just stopped (fire hazard

Your gcode file is only 3 layers high so it looks like a software problem and not a printer issue. The printer is doing what it was told by the gcode file to do. kmanley, how did you determine the G-code only has three layers? I looked at it in the gcode viewer and saw it only did three layers befo...
