Re: Auto bed probing and compensation with G29 Development

The model is designed to 9.9mm, and it is printing to 9.1mm. I will give it an extra 0.8mm in the hex. (to 10.7) attached is the updated STL file....please print it and make sure the nut fits snuggly. If so, I will update it on thingiverse. BTW, I printed the first version and no way was a M6 nut g...

Re: TAZ Fan duct?

Mounting it seems to be the hard part. Even with ABS, the TAZ is so fast, that it can use a fan. I had to turn on the cooling feature, to slow down the print speed whenever it does small details, otherwise it melts them. Maybe I need to read, but enabling *cooling* even without a fan, will slow dow...

Re: TAZ upgrade list...current and future

I've been away for 2 weeks and am now ready to start my upgrades. Is this thread and it's associated links still current?

Re: Auto bed probing and compensation with G29 Development

Just started uploading some of the files First up: Anti-backlash Z-nut and motor to M6 couplers (needed to make the Z-probing compensation accurate): http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:117950 Bed probing parts: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:117957 It looks like you need to print that anti-backlash...

Re: New printer calibration issue

Also as some have experienced with the TAZ, make sure all the set screws in the pulleys on the motors and extruder motor and snug to tight... it's a little set screw so don't over tighten it.

Re: Auto bed probing and compensation with G29 Development

Now you know, you need to modify this part to attach onto the bed probe/bearing bracket and allow a 40mm fan for PLA... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:86875 ps, I have Alibre and can save you a format of your choosing, the original is this set of files along with the Alibre version... http://www.t...

Just looking for best practices with PLA on a TAZ if you would be so kind.

Re: Setup question

in thinking about this... it would appear that I need to *shim up* the feet as necessary because it's important to keep the 80/20 matted and square to the vertical frame and the Y axis frame...

hmm

Setup question

The instructions say to lift the vertical structure when screwing in the 4 screws that hold the y axis mechanism to the upright section. When I do that I have about 1/16" gap between the legs on the upright section and the table top. As a result any rapid x/y motion causes a huge vibration. The tabl...
