Re: Latest Firmware for TAZ5 - advanced development version

Thanks Sebastian so great to have you back! I was using an older version of your updated fw for taz (I think it's the second one in this thread) and while really good leaves the occasional blob. The later ones had other problems can't recall what they were anymore. So I am hopeful this newest versio...

Re: Custom removable bed system for Taz 5

Hey billy, I really want to do this upgrade for my taz 6. However, I tried ordering it from amazon and it seems that you do not ship to Singapore. It's going to cost extra for shipping. Also it's never been tested on a Taz 6. It will work, but there will be some differences you'll have to account f...

Re: Latest Firmware for TAZ5 - advanced development version

I ended up having to go to the third to last version of Sebastian's firmware (including the most recent one he supplies as a hex only file). The one prior was causing finish issues on certain prints. I didn't notice it right away. Others had the same problem. I wish Sebastian would come back and pos...

Re: Latest Firmware for TAZ5 - advanced development version

Thak you, yes, I reverted to the OEM last week. What I am saying is that the pre June 22 v from Sebastian works, including the advance feature, better than the OEM. I get flat external infil, smooth line starts and stops, and overall more consistent looking parts. Whereas, the post-June 22 version ...

Re: Latest Firmware for TAZ5 - advanced development version

I had a weird situation when I stopped a print from the lcd yesterday. It got stuck on a command and kept extruding plastic and shifting in x y rapidly. Had to power down. I have had glitches before when stopping a print so I don't think this is specific to this firmware version. I see you didn't ch...

Re: Anyone Tried a Removable PEI Bed?

I get great results on my removable bed system with 1/16" thick PEI on 1/8" thick glass and 12x12 3m tape (same as Lulzbot uses). No problems with bowing. I have 100's of prints on it and the PEI is still perfect. It helps that I can instantly remove the glass/pei bed and work on removing the part f...

Yes I was getting the same gaps but they went away after switching to fw retraction. Glad the software retract bug is fixed!

Re: Latest Firmware for TAZ5 - advanced development version

btw I don't want to sound like a fanboy but this firmware has totally fixed my printer. I had corrected all the mechanical issues of the Taz 5 but was still getting substandard prints when compared to my Makerbot R2. Both printers have been heavily modified to correct all their mechanical faults, bu...
