Re: Install your own PEI tutorial

Thanks to you both for the comments. A few answers. It was exactly this .03 sheet of PEI from Amazon which is thicker than the .01 sheets Lulzbot uses. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013HKZTA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00 It doesn't 'happen' at a specific bed temp. It's just...

Re: Install your own PEI tutorial

I have 7 printers with PEI beds. Not one has developed air pockets or started to come off. I print almost every day for at least 5 hours - i.e. a lot of bed heating and printing. I suspect it is a result of initial installation. Make sure to really bond the PEI to the tape. Thanks for response mhac...

Re: Install your own PEI tutorial

Interesting follow-up from my first replacement which i made back in ~sept. of 2015... At that time I bought the 6 pack of 12x12 3M sheets so I have extras. For the first several months, the pei was stuck solid to the glass but over time, air pockets started creeping in from the sides (back and righ...

Re: Light for Taz 5??

This may seem a bit of a crude solution but it really puts a great amount of light on the build area. These lights from Amazon. $7 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HSF65MC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 Where do you wire the 12 volt source? @PeterT I have relay switch in a 3d...

Re: Question for Taz / Octoprint Users

Random possibility... Static electricity. It's that time of year in North America where static electricity can rear it's ugly head. Just the other night my printer kept resetting as I was going back and forth to it for a variety of test prints. It was only after the 5th time that it reset that i not...

Re: Dual Extruder V2 fan clearance?

Could I ask you guys a favor. I'm building my v2 dually as well and i was hoping to get some close up shots of a fully assembled one (not quite a close up as fluffysheap). Just some shots from each side and under if possible. I'm trying to see where the cables route and also the height adjustment sc...

Re: HOT BOX 3DP ENCLOSURE SYSTEM (For Taz)

@BigKahuna That's a great idea. In fact i've thought about that too but never thought about trying to isolate both. But this adds to another idea I had that I'd like to add to the overall design of the box... And that is a panel that can be removed to allow full access to the plate over the controll...

Re: HOT BOX 3DP ENCLOSURE SYSTEM (For Taz)

Thanks for the reply Jonathan. I had already built the box by the time i got your message. But it's all good. Here she is in all her glory. Kind of large for my office but I love it. Thank you so very much for all the effort you put into the design. I haven't finished putting the panel in the plexi ...
