Re: Nylon Causing PEI Layer to bubble?

Do I even need the bed at the profile's 110? I'm already needing to use Purple glue to keep the Bridge Nylon model stuck to the bed while printing. Pretty much all nylons are really strong plastics. So, when you manage to keep them stuck on the bed then you can be sure that they'll exert a much str...

Re: PC-MAX Problems

You're welcome. I'm glad it did work after all for you. Just out of curiosity: how well the PVA is working for you with the PC-MAX? I never had much of success with that glue and that is why I switched to Wolfbite Mega and it's really good. And, yes, it works on the PEI. As for you question about re...

Re: PC-MAX Problems

From the looks of it, I also get the impression, judging from the perimeter and the skirt, that you need to check your bed level and the flatness of the PEI sheet. The perimeters have squeezed and loose runs all around. The skirt the same. It is like the nozzle on its path, runs over hills and valle...

Re: E3D-V6 pulling my hair out

While it may waste a little filament why not just snip the filament going into your printer and extrude until it's cleared out then load your new filament? It sure would be easier than taking the thing apart. For several reasons: 1. It's not actually always easier because you need to push by hand (...

Re: E3D-V6 pulling my hair out

I agree with Piercet, the chamber is a tiny bit bigger than the bore making the cold pull a real pain. I had the same exact experience with ABS over and over again. Fortunately, my choice of filament for cold pulling are the co-polyesters and the nylon bridge. Sometimes PLA works too. For PETG and n...

Re: Adding an Openbuilds Openrail x axis to a Lulzbot Taz 4/5

Well... i have rebuilt solidworks parts almost from scratch using inventor only as a reference (didnt manage to import it directly)... if you need SW 2016 assembly let me know. You're the man! May I please have these files? It would be awesome! And here is a dropbox request, if you'd be so kind to ...

Re: Polymaker PC-Plus

I'm glad it worked out for you without too much of a hassle at the end. Now, from my experience, the benefit of using glues, is that I can keep the bed temperature below 100C. And I want to do that because I found out the hard way that working the bed higher for long time, leads to premature aging o...

Re: nGen filament end of roll distortion

There isn't any extruder that can handle an oval shape filament. 3.2mm is too much to handle. Even 3.1mm can be a problem. This is the reason most filament manufacturers choose the 2.85mm dimension to give them some space for error! I'm quite surprised for your experience since nGen is supposed to b...

Re: Polymaker PC-Plus

Personally, I never had good luck with any PVA glue. Instead, I tried the Wolfbite MEGA (for PC and ABS) and that was it. Also the Wolfbite Nitro for Nylons. Saved me every time. Even though both are supposed to be applied on glass, I put them on the PEI every time and it works just fine. And the be...

Re: Gluing HIPS Parts

I'm the process of printing out a helmet on my Mini but due to the print size, I've had to split it up into several pieces. I've been looking around but haven't found any definitive answers. Is there a recommended adhesive for gluing the pieces together? Judging from your thread's title I get it th...
