Re: Adding an Openbuilds Openrail x axis to a Lulzbot Taz 4/

Cool, thanks for the info. We have various rails around here and have ordered the one you used to take a look at it. Igus, Misumi, Thomson, et. al. give us sample stuff to check out.

Thanks,

Re: Adding an Openbuilds Openrail x axis to a Lulzbot Taz 4/

FWIW, I asked our CTO his thoughts on using these: The short answer is yes, built correctly, rails will be better than smooth rods. The Kauri project actually included testing of rails for making the X axis stiffer. We have sections of this v-slot rails as well as other rail systems. Rails fall into...

Lancewood

Lancewood is the codename of next generation of the TAZ. It was Kauri, but we have rev'd this a version. So no more Kauri. Lancewood will be more TAZ like in chassis (not like the Mini/Kauri). Files will start landing here:

Re: Crowd funding? Use CrowdSupply!

If it is something that we would roll into future versions, we could probably pop for some funds to get parts.

Crowd funding? Use CrowdSupply!

Crowd Supply will also work with FSF in bringing more software and hardware products to market based on the FSF's core tenets.... Stallman said that FSF was happy to promote the site because it "respects people’s freedom while asking them to donate to projects." http://arstechnica.com/information-t...

Re: hardware faliure

This is a new issue, and we have multiple reports. These motors were sourced from the same manufacturer that we have been using in LulzBot printers since 2011(!), but these reports are all recent. We are in contact with the manufacturer, and are reviewing the issue. The failure rate is low, but they...

Re: hardware faliure

Wow. I've never seen that happen before. We'll look into this. This looks like the stem broke on the motor.

Re: Comprehensive List of TAZ Modifications

I didn't even look at licensing when i was putting that list together. I have removed the objectionable parts from the list since it is your forum and I want to comply with the forum rules. Actually, there are no forum rules saying NC can't be posted. Copyright law does have say in the copyright vi...

Re: Comprehensive List of TAZ Modifications

Awesome, thanks for this list. :) Unfortunately, some of the projects are using proprietary licenses. I don't see licenses for all projects, but some are definitely out. Specifically, these have proprietary licenses: ---- Direct E3DV6 mount By: Wolfie Parts are under a proprietary license. ---- SD C...
