Re: TAZ 5 "Y" scaling issue

If you applied a new firmware and that didn't fix the issue, I'd suspect your wiring harness or possibly the motor controller chip. If the Y axis motor has one of the 2 motor coils unpowered, it may still be able to move, just not as well as it normally would. If you are printing slow enough it may ...

Re: Taz 5 and upgrades from Aliexpress?

Most upper end printers print well out of the box. Upgrading them is useful to reach exceptional levels of quality, but not necessary. It's kind of like adding performance kits to a sports car. It's still a fast car if you don't.

Re: Taz 2 evolved to 4

Can you tell if my machine is a TAZ 2 or 3? No, it's a taz clone of some sort. Its mostly 3 spec from the printed parts, But it has a printed case, not a metal case. I suspect its a home built one that was never a factory taz to begin with. If its got a 12v bed, nozzle and power supply its essentia...

Re: Torture Test - Is Your Printer and Slicer Calibrated Properly

The slic3r PE version has moved light years beyond where the older slic3r was. The only thing the offshoot slic3r has that PE doesn't yet was the software linear advance feature, which never really worked.

Re: Taz 2 evolved to 4

How much did this end up costing you? Doing this years ago would have been cheaper than it is now, but its still doable. Here are the expected cost breakdowns: If you have a Taz 2, it should be 24v, but you will want to check. If its not 24v, you will need a meanwell 24v 500w PSU - $90, and housing...

Re: Dumpster Find

Someday you will want to consider updating the Z axis to at least the Taz 4/5 spec, it definitely helps considerably. Sounds like something to look into. Do you have more info or a specific link to a forum thread covering this? Thank you Here's a thread covering the basic process. https://forum.lul...
