Re: OHAI-KIT TAZ Upgrade from 12V to 24V bed

I have no idea how specs match up but here is a link if you are wanting to roll your own solution.

Edit for 24 volt...

Re: Weird retraction sound

I had the same problem. The extruder motor is being driven too hard and it is losing steps. Check this thread. This fixed the problem for me. A-retract is the setting to adjust to get rid of the noise and step loss. In my case it would retract fine then lose steps on the return from retraction. If I...

Cura

I loaded up Cura 14.01 this weekend. I have to say, my Taz has never produced nicer parts. If you are fighting with Slic3r, give Cura a shot.

It is also doing a good job with holes.

I have attached my current Cura setup file.

Re: Extruded filament curls under...is this the root issue?

You need the juice! Nothing will stick to my bed without it. I have a hard time with it! The parts almost always curl at the corners.

Re: Getting Started Issues

Have you adjusted your extruder acceleration and checked the extrusion esteps yet? I was having major problems because my extruder motor was loosing steps when it tried to return the retraction distance. Reducing the extruder accel and making sure it extrudes 10mm when it is instructed to GREATLY im...

Re: ABS Juice Application

I use a brim when I can but on some parts, like gears, it is a real pain to clean the brim off all those teeth. Cutting a brim off also does nothing to help the appearance of the parts.

Even with a brim, the corners lift sometimes, pulling the brim up where it is attached to the bed.

Re: TAZ Slic3r profiles

They took the rest of them down because they did not produce quality parts. They are working on new ones and posting them as they are completed. Jebba posted about it earlier in another thread.

Re: ABS Juice Application

Ok.

I am not concerned about a thickness problem but, I am still having trouble with the prints detaching from the bed. This occurs even with a cardboard box enclosure. :?
