ABS issue

So I only have this issue when printing with ABS. I know ABS shrinks linearly so I started using the tweak At Z plug-in in Cura to try to remedy this problem, but Ive only seen a small improvement. Basically My prints are coming out with a sort of curved edged instead of a straight wall. You can se ...

Re: Heater Cartridge question

Keep in mind the heaters don't fail often. I have thousands of printing hours across five different printers. I have never had to replace a heater cartridge. You can get a quality unit from E3D for $12 shipped. To me, it wouldn't be worth having an unknown quality part at the core of my printer. Fr...

Heater Cartridge question

I was thinking about purchasing a few heater block cartridges as back ups for those "just in case" moments. I know that the Taz 5 uses a 24v 30watt heater cartridge. I found a deal on a pack of two 24v 40watt heater block cartridges for the same price as one of the 24v 30 watt units. Could the 40 wa...

Re: How is everyone doing with their Ciclop?

After months of trying, calibrating, uninstalls, re-instals, Re-triangulation, disassembly, rebuilds, alternative cameras, every possible lighting configuration you can think of, all I get is point clouds that in no possible way could ever be usable with blender, meshlab, or any other program to mak...

Re: Matter Hackers Laywood Clogging Nozzle during prints

Thanks for the info. So far I have adjusted the angle of airflow of the heatsink fan in an effort to cool it more efficiently. I used an Infrared thermometer to view the temp as it was printing ABS with the extruder hot end set to 240c. The lower portion of the heat sink (the thickest block) was aro...

Matter Hackers Laywood Clogging Nozzle during prints

Ive done a few prints successfully using Laywood on the Taz 5 using the Cura profile downloaded from the profile section. Unfortunately when I try printing with it now, my print will get to about 3mm in height and the filament will no longer extrude. If its a long print job and I step away the print...
