Re: PLA Heat Creep - SOLVED

Yes. I created it in Inventor and the units are in inches. Cura assumes the units are in millimeters.

I probably should scale it by 25.4

Re: PLA Heat Creep - SOLVED

The 25mm fan is generic and not "plug and play". You will either have to cut the old wires and splice the new fan wires to the old ones, or you will have to carefully remove the old fan pins from the connector, crimp new pins on your fan wires, and put them back into the connector where the old fan ...

Re: PLA Heat Creep - SOLVED

Hi CheezeJam, I posted the everything on "Thingiverse" including the print files, and where you can buy the fans, etc. Here is the Thingiverse" link: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1461335 Here is the link for the particular 25mm fan that I bought on Ebay (also given in the post on Thingiverse): U...

Re: WHAT is going on with my prints???

We had trouble with PLA clogging, jamming, and grinding. The root problem turned out to be heatsink cooling. The little blower works OK for ABS, Nvent, etc. but it just doesn't keep the heatsink quite cool enough for PLA. I built a new duct for a 25mm muffin fan and that cured all my troubles with f...

Re: PLA Heat Creep - SOLVED

Looks like you have a good solution for the dual head. I will download your parts in the next few days and try it myself.
There is darn little space for the heat sink fans on the dual head.
Thanks for posting this! :)

Two size nozzles on dual head?

Has anyone tried running two different size nozzles on a dual head? For example, putting a "course" 0.8mm nozzle on one head while running a "fine" 0.35mm nozzle on the other head. The 0.8mm would lay down the bulk of the print, (like infills, and thick sections, etc.,) while the 0.35mm would just d...

Re: HOT BOX 3DP ENCLOSURE SYSTEM (For Taz)

We built a heated enclosure that is a bit simpler than the one you folks are talking about: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1431089 It is constructed of "8020", CoroPlast sheets, and an Acrylic sheet for the front door. I designed and printed the corner pieces that actually work a bit better than t...

Re: Comprehensive List of TAZ Modifications

This is a duct I designed for a 25mm fan for the heatsink on the extruder: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1461335 Mounts in the original place using the original blower screw. Tucks nicely out of the way. I think that the TAZ 6 has a similar heatsink blower, but uses a much bulkier 30mm (or 40mm) ...

I made this design. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1424791
Works quite well for us. Prints super easy. Uses a piece of 3/4 inch (trade size) PVC tubing as the axle.

Re: PLA Heat Creep - SOLVED

I _almost_ have a dual head duct for a 25mm muffin fan. I have gone through several design iterations, each getting the fan closer and the duct more compact. The duct fits, but it rubs up against the heated block. I don't like that so much. It will melt and then it blows directly on the heater block...
