Re: New Mini Not Extruding

When I release the head clamps and push the filament through, it comes out beautifully. However, when it is clamped up and I click "extrude" in Cura, I hear a purring sound of a gear and nothing comes out. Successive clicks also yield nothing. So when you push it through manually the filament comes...

Re: Best Filament for Newbie

You may get several answers to this, you may only get a few. Everyone will have a brand they're generally loyal to. The filament you use can make all the difference in your final print. Oye that Lulzbot is closing out their eSUN though I've never had anything but good results with eSUN (I did notice...

Re: Calibration and first layer problem

Hi @jim2386 - No worries and not at all. As I said, your post got me thinking which is why I went back to look at the video again. To a degree I had also thought maybe the nozzle was missing the washer all together. I had just seen that same "corner plunge" thing too many times myself, especially wi...

Re: Calibration and first layer problem

@jim2386 - I think it actually IS a dirty nozzle. Your image got me thinking and I watched the video again. Take a look at these two images. The offending dirt you point out was delivered by the nozzle and has actually stuck to the washer from being pressed on to it so hard. In this image you can se...

Re: Calibration and first layer problem

During that probing sequence the nozzle needs to make an electrical contact with each of the four corner washers. It appears as if your nozzle is still.a bit dirty after the cleaning process. If you haven't already you should grab some of the blue non-abrasive 3M scrubbing pads and manually clean th...

Re: What is happening to this print?

Can't help but notice that it looks like your nozzle may be too close to the print bed. The skirt (and remaining part outline) in the second pic is almost see through. The first pic give the same impression due to the outer perimeter being so shiny a void of any filament lines.

Re: Taz 6 Retracting too much before leveling?

I think I'll give this a shot too. @aramis: I've experienced the same thing. I find it is dependent on the initial layer height. If left at Cura defaults (.425 & 125%) I don't have the problem. I realize those are set that way to promote bed adhesion. If you modify them however, say you set the init...

Re: Lulzbot Taz 6, 3D iphone case with face

What material are you using? Can you post example prints you're getting? The TAZ 6 can print down to 0.050mm layer heights which is pretty fine IMHO. However if you're having trouble reproducing your embossed image on the case I don't think it is 3D printer technology, I think it is more a matter of...

Re: S3D ABS Mini Profile

Since S3D has the Mini as a supported printer as well as ABS as a default profile what is the result using the S3D defaults before you tweak anything? As I recall the defaults are quite good and really the filament diameter (and extrusion must to 1.0) is about the only thing to change before anythin...
