Re: Cura LE v3.2.11, Alpha Testing Discussion Thread

I just hauled my printer close to my computer to update the firmware. After updating, it now says it has 1.1.8.20.

Re: Cura LE v3.2.11, Alpha Testing Discussion Thread

I usually print from SD (the printer is far away from my computer because it is noisy).
Is there any need to update the firmware for this alpha version of cura?
If so, what is the procedure for doing so?

Re: Cura LE v3.2.11, Alpha Testing Discussion Thread

I got help with this in the Linux Mint forums.
The problem it seems was the original content of the sources.list file. I deleted the wheezy line, and was able to install.

Re: Cura LulzBot Edition Development: Feature Requests

When doing a 100% fill on top or bottom, Cura fills lines sequentially. When doing long fills, if there is even the slightest over extrusion, the fill lines get pushed further and further ahead of where the print head is trying to extrude. This leads to ripples in the print, and when it goes to fill...

Odd behavior of plastic while bridging

http://youtu.be/nMmEjLJVH0A This is done with nGen plastic. Bridging is done at 5mm/sec. layer height is 0.4mm, and the bridge is 20mm. This was sliced with Slic3r Things to watch for: There appears to be a bug in Slic3r where it extrudes while moving the print head to the next level. This is the c...

Potentially dangerous behaviour of Taz 6

Summary: If a gcode file is truncated, Taz will stop wherever it was, and keep the heaters on. Full Story: I created a gcode file using slic3r and used slic3r to save the file directly to an SD card. I properly ejected the SD card using the software before removing it from the card reader. (note thi...

Modified heatsink fan duct for Taz-6 With LEDs

I have created a modified version of the heatsink fan duct for the Taz 6 Changes: Bend the duct by 45 degrees to get fan out of the way so you can see what the print head is doing. Add LED mounts to the duct so that you can add white LEDs to illuminate the print head, and get it out of the shadows. ...
