Re: TAZ Slic3r profiles

You can pull the start and end Gcode from our Cura profiles to ensure you have the bed leveling routine set properly. The machine settings will also be in Cura located under Machine > Machine Settings. You can use these settings as a base profile for any slicing program out there. It was not quite ...

Re: TAZ Slic3r profiles

Hmm, Hasn't been updated since 2014.

Does anyone have slic3r profiles for the TAZ 6? I need a good starting point, something to make sure the bed size & origin is correct, and has the autoleveling code.

Re: Failure to install Slic3r on Linux Mint... Solved

To summarize:
The Ubuntu package for slic3r on Linux mint is missing the following dependencies:
wx-common
libopengl-perl
libwx-glcanvas-perl

I had to guess what packages were necessary since the error messages gave very tenuous clues.

Failure to install Slic3r on Linux Mint... Solved

I attempted to install Slic3r on linux mint using "Software Manager". Install seemed to go fine, but running it from the menu caused nothing to happen. I ran it in the command line and got: $ slic3r --gui Can't locate Wx.pm in @INC (you may need to install the Wx module) (@INC contains: /usr/bin/lib...

Cura 21.00 Error: Failed to autodetect serial port. Solved.

My google foo has failed me. I usually print using the SD card on my TAZ 6, but I wanted to upgrade the firmware. Not finding any way to do this using the SD card, I dragged my printer across my house to my computer (much easier to move than my computer). I'm running Linux Mint 18. At first I though...

Re: Questions about printing replacement parts for TAZ 6.

Last nights attempt to print the Z idler mount was a failure. The layer separation is much smaller than my previous attempts, but there are still about 6 splits in the part. I set the nozzle temperature to 250 degrees, turned off the fans, fill was 60%, and wall thickness was 1.5mm. about the only t...

Re: Questions about printing replacement parts for TAZ 6.

I printed parts in alphabetical order using ABS medium profile modified to 85% fill up to the z stage, but the z stage parts were suffering layer separation. A bit of googling suggested that the temperature of the print head used was too low. To confirm this I went looking at the gcode that was post...

Re: Taz 6 error Probe Fail Clean Nozzle

The bed should have enough travel on a 5 or a 6 for the nozzle to be a full inch behind the bed at a minimum if you want and still be able to hit the front left corner with ease. True, but the fan sticks out 2" in front of the nozzle, so you would loose the back 1" from the build area if you attemp...
