Flat surface pattern

On my two months old Mini I see a Z-axis patterns as seen in the attachment. It looks like the Z-axis suffers a different offset depending on the direction of the extrusion, caused by drag? Also, the little holes seem to be more almond-shaped than round. Any ideas where to start looking for tighteni...

Re: Missing layers after pause

If this is a manual pause and resume I don't know exactly how to help. If you want to encode the pause in gcode however I shamelessly plug my "pause at Layer plugin" for Cura: https://forum.lulzbot.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5220 It has code for slower print, less fan and more extrusion on resume layer...

Re: HIPS versus PETG with a Lulzbot TAZ5

I've been experimenting with PETG as well and like it for the shiny finish. Also, the strength does seem to compete with ABS indeed. I've bought some reels from http://www.real-filament.com/ and they communicate conflicting temperatures. The box says anywhere between 190-245, the site says 230-250. ...

download.alephobjects.com uses weak digest algorithm SHA1

The use of SHA1 is deprecated and gives strong warnings in Debian apt based distributions (e.g. Ubuntu). https://download.alephobjects.com/ao/aodeb/dists/wheezy/Release.gpg: Signature by key 88E7C763A506DE12AAB1DEF94C0B27E86C64E93E uses weak digest algorithm (SHA1) An upgrade to SHA255 should be con...

Mini revisions and interoperability

There seem to be multiple Mini versions or revisions but I couldn't find any explanation about their status. My Mini was delivered and documented as 1.0 a couple of weeks ago (seems old for such a recent acquisition?). I find flower named versions in alphebetical order in the devel section of the we...

Cura 20 Pause at Layer plugin

Hi, I just started to experiment with 3D printing on my brand new Mini and wanted to know if multi-color printing with a manual filament change was feasable. I found the Pause at height plugin in Cura, but although it worked somewhat, I started hacking up my personal version to cater for my needs. M...

Re: NEMA 17 Motor Vibration Damper = Night and Day

I also had to buy a 1.27mm (0.50") allen key to remove the set screws. The 1.3mm I had laying around didn't work for me. The closest tool I had lying around was a T5 (torx), which fit snugly and did the job perfectly without damaging the driver and hopefully the screws. It felt very tight without r...
