Re: Linear Advance

update: first PLA test shows best for K50 and it's quite apparent! Does layer height affect the calibration and K-factor? I suspect it does, since layer height affects volume, but haven't tested. I used 0.25 for the calibration test I did -- what layer height did you use? I (only) used the default ...

Re: Linear Advance

I've used Lin Advance ever since I built Mini firmware myself and am quite happy with it... @mrvanes - Since activating this is just uncommenting one line and compiling... I have to try it. What is a good starting K-factor for the Mini? Sorry for late reaction, was busy last days. I never did the c...

Re: Linear Advance

I discussed this with Marcio while debugging the new Mini firmware and the answer was simple: "Test, test, test, test, time". My reply that K0 would turn off Lin Advance for those not interested was that that wasn't tested (enough) ;) I've used Lin Advance ever since I built Mini firmware myself and...

Re: Endstop Triggering on Lulzbot MINI

This just happens too often, AO should really rethink the hotend/heater design: https://forum.lulzbot.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=6219&p=35958#p35958 In my case it was not the insulation that was penetrated, but the fact that it is loose and moves up away from the heaterblock exposing bare heater leads...

Re: Option to wipe hot end periodically during print?

I dialed down the extrusion multiplier (Slic3r, 0.95) untill there was negligible build-up of PETG on the nozzle while maintining build quality.

Re: (Taz 6 / Mini) Skipping auto bed levelling?

I once had the same idea and found this insightful thread. I never implemented the code changes though and don't know if Marlin has since implemented them.

Re: Hint: Adjust your Slicer cooling settings!

there must be some secret threshold, perhaps 30%, that you have to get past for the fan to bother to turn on. Nice topic. Yes, I allways take 27% as minimum threshold for my Mini. Anything below that is off. I have the opposite experience: Because of the layer bonding and warping problems with ABS ...

Re: Replacement Nozzles for the Mini

Are you still running your own compilation of the firmware for your mini or did you find a better solution? It seems like there should be a configuration or some way to define the physical change via configuration so home doesn't reset to 159mm. Or is that what the firmware update is for I'm still ...

Re: Replacement Nozzles for the Mini

And there it is. A bit stressful I must say to touch these delicate parts but I think I managed without breaking anything. IMG_20170120_111209.jpg The procedure to adjust Z Home offset is M28 Z // Home Z without Bed offset M206 // Check Z Home (should be 159 for unmodified Mini) M206 Z-1.0 // Add 1...

Re: Adding a display/Untethered use

Although I haven't tried, you could add an external SD card reader to the Pi and make it automount. IIRC Octoprint can be configured to watch an SD directory. I don't really understand the wifi problem, but you can make the Pi access point: no need for external wifi network. I would definitely try t...
