Is there a way to get specific PLA profiles?

I have recently switched from Ngen to Matterhackers PLA to test it out. I noticed in Cura there is no Matterhackers PLA profile and am wondering what I should use for it and whether there is a way to download a specific profile that is proven to work with it. Any suggestions?

TAz 6 flashing ? on screen after firmware update

I recently upgraded to the latest Cura lulzbot edition 2.6 and updated my firmware on my Taz 6. Now that it is done, I immediately noticed the X Y and Z on the printers LCD screen keep changing to ?'s. So the X the Y and the Z go back and forth from the letters, to ?'s. Why is that happening and wha...

Re: Should I get Simplify 3D??

The vertical and horizontal spacing of the supports is the key to easy removal... try .3mm. S3D has other nice features like sparse and dense support layers... The other trick to S3D, is to understand the speed settings. I regularly print at 5400mm/s (.5 nozzle, layer height .3) with infill undersp...

Re: Trick to Printing Cookie Cutters?

Well... you probably need to ensure the walls of the cutter are defined by more than one line... So if you wanted a square cookie cutter, you'd need to draw the outside wall, then duplicate and scale that square by 90% to create the inside wall. Basically, the cookie cutter wall can't be a single l...

Re: Trick to Printing Cookie Cutters?

BTW I should mention that my cookie cutter was not a simple outline shape.. it was one that had also internal details.. probably too many details but the model was all one piece and didn't seem to have any errors.

Trick to Printing Cookie Cutters?

Can someone tell me if there is some tricks to printing cookie cutters successfully anywhere in the process? Whether it be modeling, slicing, or print settings? I used a vector to extrude a design as a cookie cutter and it printed sort of messed up. Alot of the outline that would cut the cookie didn...

Re: Should I get Simplify 3D??

Honestly I used Simplify3D a little and have found it to print more sloppily than Cura. It seemed like S3D was moving way faster than Cura even though the speed settings were the same and Cura, because it moves slowly and takes its time more to choose paths wisely, it seems to do a better job. Probl...

Incosistent NGEN diameter??

So I found out that apparently the filament diameter should be set as accurately as possible when printing and I bought some pretty decent calipers so that I could do that. Problem is I am getting very different readings even as close as an inch away from the last reading taken. For example, I can t...

Re: Ngen Makes Brittle Cellphone Cases?

Hi nGen is pretty close to ABS in it's characteristics. I've been printing with nGen on several of my latest projects. The nGen material appears to be pretty close to PLA as far as stiffness goes. the nGen material will tolerate warm temps, such as in a car on a sunny day. BUT If I drop one of my n...
