Re: Wanted - Taz 6 - removable flexible bed mod?????

Thanks for sharing your ideas. My question about using the Taz6 silcone heater - it takes up almost the whole surface of moving plate. There isn't much place to put magnets around the edges. Maybe we could use clips to hold additional plate? Although the magnet solution is so much more elegant. Idk...

Re: Taz 5 + BLTouch [Project]

Just wanted to mention something - not sure if the 5 has a heatsink on the stepper driver for the z axis - the 6 does - if there isn't one you may consider placing one on the chip due to the increased load on the driver controlling two bigger motors...

Re: Taz 6 BLTouch working....

Yeah - it works on the 6 right after you flash FW but as soon as it saves to EEPROM the knob stops moving the axis unless the printer is printing. This isn't a huge issue because you really need to be printing the first layer to get the z axis perfect... just wonder why it's different?

Re: Nozzel on Areostruder

You can also get the A2 Hercules hardened steel nozzles from 3DeXtech - very nice nozzle and you'll probably only need to ever buy one:

Re: Wanted - Taz 6 - removable flexible bed mod?????

You can buy the Taz 6 silicone heater pad by itself and stick it to whatever you want - you could use a thin piece of aluminum (3mm) and then do the flex mod on top of that. If you like the BuildTak - I think they make a flexible magnetic one now? I liked Buildtak but it's just not durable enough - ...

Re: Wanted - Taz 6 - removable flexible bed mod?????

You would no longer need the standard Taz 6 bed mount design - you could make up anything you want since the washers are irrelevant...

I ditched the PEI a long time ago - just glass and whatever I need to make whatever I'm printing stick.

Re: Taz 6 BLTouch working....

You can download the STL's for that toolhead design from thingiverse or itworks3d.com - it's a really, really nice design and not hard to print - the lightest extruder solution I've yet found. I'm still tweaking the BLTouch mount design to make it more stiff for people who may not want to print it i...

Re: Taz 5 + BLTouch [Project]

That's another thing I was wondering - when they release new versions of 1.1.8.x how do you merge so you don't have to go through and make all the edits every time there is a release? Also what type of bed leveling have you settled on for the BLTouch - right now I'm using Bilinear with a 3x3 grid an...

Re: Taz 5 + BLTouch [Project]

I'm a halfwit... Figured it out - I had mistakenly left the G26 command in the start gcode which used to be in the start gcode for the regular Taz 6 FW - this is now "mesh validation tool" - used to be "clear probe fail condition" Still weird that it doesn't do it for the first print after the machi...
